He appears to have great vision. He sets his blocks up ahead of time, and get the defender on his heals quick. Nice ability. Very happy to have him aboard.

Like I said before, the only reason he is not a 4* is because he is a small-ish white RB. Hate to play the race card, but yes the white part matters. If he was black he would probably be a 4* ATH with people talking about him having potential at DB/RB/WR.

For reference, Toby Gerhart was barely a 3*... wasn't even a top fullback recruit much less a high RB recruit... and he ran a "sub-4.5" 40 with a ton of strength and power. If you don't fit what the billet of what the recruiting service are looking for then your star rating suffers. I think this is an absolute steal and McDaniel is the kind of guy who will give defenses nightmares in a couple years. He is probably going to be a better version of Danny Woodhead who is playing for the Patriots now. A Percy Harvin-esque back who is ideal for 3rd down, can line up in the backfield to start and then split out wide, and has the shiftiness to be effective in both the running and passing game at all times.

If we get Amir Carlisle we will officially have three guys with that make-you-miss big play potential... along with Davaris Daniels who I think will be a stud WR in the spread... and if we land Savon we will also have a powerful downhill runner. I cannot wait for 2012.

I have to agree. I kinda feel like the white running back today is what the black quarterback used to be...extremely overlooked due to biases or dare I say prejudices. These overlooked groups a ripe with opportunity.Cam looks like he has some terrific skills that can make him successful as a "percy harvin" back, here forward to be referred to as the PHB. There are some people who just look like the have an internal gyroscope and cam is one of them. A great addition in my book.

I like it.

He's got great field vision. He's got a nice little burst that allows him to turn the corner when he needed to bounce it outside on several of those zone reads.

His Oline is pretty good. While he did make chicken salad out of chick poo a few times, he really hit the hole hard on those zone reads.

Nice soft hands. Quick burst.

Great pickup.

Love Wabash's perspective on things. When are we going to get a Hanratty/Hegarty/Springmann breakdown big dog? That stream of consciousness video analysis.

Wabash did a great breakdown of Hanratty's film when he committed. I can scout DB's, but I know nothing about scouting O-lineman.

CB's and Olineman are the hardest to project IMO

thats why so many 3 stars end up studs at these positions

just read the ISD interview with Cam......this is definitely a "RKG" and will be big in this program. Great supportive family and already making plans with Jalen to work out this summer. Article gave me goosebumps.

A guy on DD posted this. It came from a Texas fan can't remember where though . Just something to read and some nice stuff on him

He's not on the same level as Burkhead coming out (you're going to hear this comparison a lot), but he's close. He can play RB, slot, safety, great in the return game. I'm assuming y'all are keeping him at RB? On the year, he has 287 attempts, 1859 yards and 31 TD's on the ground. 500 yards and 3 TD's receiving. He can do it all. He plays in the best district in the state of Texas in the highest classification, 7-5A. He plays for one of the best coaching staffs in the nation under coach Joe McBride. High football IQ, high character guy, patient runner, great balance, and deceptive speed. He's carried Coppell deep into the playoffs this year and they will play Trinity this weekend.

I've seen Cam play live 3 times and on TV twice, and you guys are in very good hands. He is going to be great in that system. Bottom line is that you're getting a top 15 football player in the state of Texas. He is a bad mother f*cker. I think he's Texas good and we are going to regret not offering. Don't worry about the offer list. He is going to ball out. He should be a 4 star prospect.

Coppell is a great program, they send out a lot of talent every year. Emmanuel Moody went to Coppell. They used to be known for their ridiculous offenses, but McBride has been cranking out some extremely stout defenses lately with his 3-4 scheme. They're one of the few schools who have installed that and run it really effectively.

I also wanted to add in that Cam ran a 3.84 Agility/Shuttle time at the Army AA Combine. Fastest ever.

3.84 shuttle time. That is incredible if accurate. Anything below 4.0 is incredible.
