So would they turn around for a pick six or scoop and score? I want to see this.

No I think the point is you don't run your red zone offense into the wall. Once there is a stoppage of play they would switch ends of the field. The freaking goal post was hung on the wall...

I am going to the game tomorrow. That was suppose to be the end zone where all the extra points where kicked off the buildings on Sheffield.

Half Court Football? Winners Outs? Only in the Big Ten would they try to make a game that nobody cares about get headlines. Kudos

That should make things interesting - if the field is really set up like this:

With it being cold, the wind patterns will probably resemble the early April with the wind coming in from Lake Michigan off the Northeast corner. Should mean a wind to the passers backs at all times, right? So pick the over for scoring for this game...

Hey, wait a minute. Not everything related to the Cubs is an epic fail. What about Soriano's contract..bad example. how about fukudome or..........

People complain about ND football not winning a NC since 1988. What's it like to be a fan of a team that hasn't won a championship since 1908?

Believe me, that's what makes being an Irish fan so easy. I've been a Cubs fan my entire life so losing is something I am prepared for. It's just the last few years when I root for ND I feel ike I'm rooting for the Cubs ha. Doesn't stop me from loving my Irish or my Cubs.

Unless you're 102 years old it's the same as being a fan of any other team that hasn't won a championship in your lifetime. I'm not envious of Indians fans because their franchise won a title in 1948.

What I don't get with this NU/Illinois game is that they announced it at least 6 months ago. They knew the dimensions of the field then. It's weird that they announce this the day before the game like something just came up.

Per ESPN, the players on both teams raised concerns through their coaches about the dimensions, who in turn passed it on to the Big 10. It's the same as management not understanding safety concerns raised by the guys working out on the floor - what seems reasonable on paper might not hold up in real life.

Bingo.... we will never be a featured location on college game day unless our opponent is the focus.

Well it's usually the match up of both teams that the focus. Game Day's been in South Bend a few times over the years. They had to be there for '05 against SC right? And I know the original CGD was '93 vs FSU.

2005 FOCUS- USC
1993- GAME OF THE CENTURY -doesn't count

Not really. ND's instant return to glory in '05 was a pretty big deal in the CFB world. I doubt game day would have showed up if they thought ND was going to get blown out like they had the previous 3 seasons under Willingham.

Haven't followed this real closely, but I know I did read somewhere that when football was a regular event at Wrigley, the filed was laid out differently, almost perpendicular to the way they have it now, and there were no problems. So why did the present-day masterminds decide to change it to an unworkable configuration in the first place?

They said on college game day that the cubs have added seats since they used to play there. And it would have been even shorter then what it is now.
