NDFANnSouthWest,
I have that same hunch feeling about Lynch that you do. I bet that #19 is still available.

Hey IrishAndy...put yourself in BKs shoes would you:
1. Wait for Aaron and keep his offer alive...and hope he has a change of heart?
or
2. Say heck with you kid...you played us long enough.

I personally have had both thoughts since he de-committed. On one hand he would be a great add to the program...however does he have the dedication and drive to be a ND STUDENT ATHLETE?

I don't know about athletes, but for regular students requirements are high.

USC and Miami have pretty high standards too... unless you play ball... it's no secret some of these schools throw their standards right out the window for blue chipers...

Well, a 12 is equal to a 590 (2-score) on the SAT, so I have a hard time believing his offer was not conditional, but I didn't think ND did conditional offers. Maybe Kelly's been able to have even a little more wiggle room with admissions than we thought.

WOT?

WOT?

I was unaware that someone could actually score a 12, I thought 15 was the floor.

I stayed up all night drinking the previous evening, stumbled in just before they shut the doors, fell asleep twice and scored a 23.

and I am not not exactly a beacon of intelligence.

What's the big deal about ACT when it comes to football players. You need guys that are football smart not academic smart to play on your team.

This is either a bad form of sarcasm or you don't have any idea what Notre Dame is all about.

I never really want to hear academics whispered as even the hint of an excuse if a guy who got a 12 on the ACT was fine.

Hahaha....

I only took the ACT one time, got an 18 and got into one of the top 3 liberal arts colleges in the country at the time because I could throw the ball. It can be done. He pussed out and chose the path of least resistance.

I took the ACT the at 7:00am the day after the football team I captained won the conference and clinched a state playoff berth. So naturally, I didn't quite go to sleep like a good boy. I fell asleep in the middle of it due to a hangover and still got a 24. My sister has a dog who could get a freakin' 12!

Expected better !

Expected better !

Leave the kid alone a month ago we thought he was the savior. Guess what next year he will be on a winning football team . Notre Dame is a great school without question I would be damn proud of any of my kids were lucky enough to attend. This elitist attitude thats being shown right now must be because of academics because you know the football team which what this school is know for just got beat by Tulsa. I follow this team I love them I really do I wasn't a great student in highschool so instead I joined the army served my country by the sounds it I guess i didn't miss much . You can say what you want I do know stanford who I hear is a pretty tough school itself tooled you guys this year in football. Lynch may never win a spelling bee but he is great at football something this school used to be too. Honestly I have full respect for those of you students and former student who have gone to Notre Dame . To tease a kid for academics is funny because without football you know Notre dame is ? The best school in Indiana.

Lets leave the Lynch issue. The kid wasn't the right kind of kid. We all thought he was, and were very excited to have him here. So, lets move on. He could have been beloved by the whole Irish Nation, but he didn't want it. We need to move on, and I won't talk about his ACT. Not fair.

Lets concentrate on the kids that want to be Irish.

Support our guys!!!!

Go Irish!!

That's the most bullsh!t I've seen in a thread to date. The best school in Indiana? What a ****ing joke!

Personally I think we all should lay off Lynch's academics because I completely agree the guy is trying his hardest. There's NOTHING wrong with giving it your all in anything. However he made a choice and must live with the consequences.

But to call ND the best school in Indiana is an insult to me, DillonHall, and everybody else here who is a student, alum, and a fan. Notre Dame is a top 20 institution in this country and the best Catholic university in America.

The easiest way to p!ss me off is to knock my University. BACK THE HELL OFF.

I apologize for my tirade and getting off topic. He evidently passed admissions and made a choice to not attend Notre Dame. We should respect that whether it is right, wrong, or indifferent. There will be more Aaron Lynch's in the future, let's focus on winning their hearts.

Anyone who goes to Notre Dame I respect the hard work and dedication it takes get there and achieve your goals . As a catholic and a admirer of your school I apologize sincerely. This thread just struck me the wrong way I guess .
