When we fired CW BK signed and was the onyl worthwhile coach that would sign. Now I know maybe we expected too much to win a National title or go to the BCS but we have actually gotten worse than with CW at least with CW navy was a close game. Im not saying CW is a better coahc im jsut saying the facts. The fact is Brian kelly is overrated, he will not return us to promise he will be fired in 2 or 3 years we will hrie somebody else who fail too. Eventually we will just fade into the middle of the road team we have been for the last 13 years and be nothing special but a team and a fanbase that relies on their past glories. God Bells you if you can say anything at all that will maybe prove this wrong, but we all need to face the fact we arent ever going to be a contender or a powerhouse again. Lets admit to it and accept it no sue having our heartsbroken year after year coach after coach.

8, 25, 65, 89, 45 and powerball is 7 ;)

c'mon man you cant blame me for feeling that way especially because BK has been the cause IMO of two clsoe losses to teams that arent that good (Tulsa, and Michigan) if he cant turn us around, who will, who would want to come here and coach?

A question that many Alabama fans, Nebraska fans, and USC fans have asked, in the last 20 years or so.

See Larry Smith at USC, and Bill Callahan at Nebraska.

who can we hire i was kinda hoping wies would be our callahan but now it looks like that will be kelly

I don't know. But I do know that no one in So. Cal was even thinking about Pete Carroll, during the Larry Smith era. They just figured that they had fallen so far that they would never be able to get back on top. Have some faith. ND is still a prestigious job. It's not quite as prestigious as it used to be, but it still has cachet to it. A Rolls-Royce is no Porsche, but it's still a Rolls.

Here's my take.....ND, despite what fans want to believe, is a mid-level program at this point. Everything about the program speaks to big-time football except for the actual product and results on the field. People want to bag on teams like Tulsa, but the truth is that ND is not that far above a team like that. A big-time program still beats a team like that despite injuries. Not ND. It took 14-15 years to get it to this point. It's not going to change overnight. ND fans just need to face reality. ND has been living off brand recognition while the product on the field is mediocre at best. Then add to the fact that they are snakebit this year (major injuries) and that's a recipe for disaster. It won't change overnight and it's not like other coaches are beating down the door.

I'm the most optimistic guy on this board but I can understand his frustration. Although I don't think ND is DOOMED or anything, it just sucks to have a bonehead play call give away a game.

What drives me absolutely nuts is how every single team we play always has a career day. They are always fired up, never overlook us. Just once it would be nice to play someone on their off day.

Right. Like hopefully Utah and USC. I mean I expect nothing brilliant for our team. So, hopefully, we'll catch someone slipping. Then we can break it off in them.

Wins against USC and Utah would be SWEET! Wait a second. We lost Crist. Nevermind.

To me this is something we as diehard ND fans always overlook. A team ALWAYS has let-downs and droughts during the season, no matter who you are. A lot of teams get up for who they play, and we are one team that an opponent will always get up to play. Not to make any excuses for this loss or any others, but it is just something to keep in mind before thinking it is the end of the world.

Brian Kelly is just a football coach not Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny or Jesus Christ, he can't just wave a wand and fix all of our problems. If you were a realistic fan you knew the state of our program and if you know anything about college sports then you knew this wasn't going to be an overnight fix. I can't believe the expectation of instant gratification, and the tantrums people are throwing.....if you don't like the way things are going then stop watching.

instant gratification maybe too much but tulsa....navy, not making a ****ing stupid choice that cost us the game....I expected that and he isnt delivering name me any rational thought that says hes gonna turn us around. If you can god bless ya but you cant.

...our best shot is Utah, then SC. Utah because they are playig TCU right before us, so they could be flat for sure...SC because they've not seen us as a challenge in YEARS...

I still think Army is the game BK HAS to win to face a bit of face

Duke beat Navy, and is 2-6, but look at their schedule:
- Elon : W41-27
- Wake Forest: L54-48
- Alabama: L62-13
- Army: L35-21
- Maryland: L21-16
- Miami (FL): L28-13
- Virginia Tech: L44-7
- Navy : W34-31

So they've played some tough teams, then again they got blown out a few times.
What bother me is the loss vs. Army, the so-called lesser version of Navy. Then again, it could simply be that they were better prepared the second against the triple option, so this could be viewed as a positive, if being positive is still conceivable this year.

Basically, if BK loses to Army, I believe the hot seat will get unofficially installed, and Diaco's officially. Why? prime time, Yankee stadium, 2nd try against the option, no excuses bar injuries. I think a loss at THAT point could hurt recruiting.

Hey, on top of Navy-Army, we'll get to play Maryland, Wake Forest AND Miami soon enough, maybe BK can suck up the Duke's HC to get some intel on how to prepare!

I kid. Well, sorta...
