Yeah Crist just shouldn't be able to play on halloween weekends anymore. But in all seriousness this just is not good. I know everyone has been down on Dayne a lot lately, but he is a leader and I hope he can come back in the spring and show what kind of quarterback we know he can be.

Sadly this is likely his career. While he is re-habing Tommy will be starting and Hendrix will continue to be leading the scout team. Dayne will likely miss spring practice, and by then Tommy will have started almost as many games as Dayne. I think it's unlikely he is the starter next year.

This is tragic, and even as someone who has been very critical of him I feel bad for the kid. At least he is at ND and his degree is worth a great deal.

You realize Dayne has 2 more years of eligibility left, right?

Kid has look very good so far in this game.

i dont see how that changes his argument, as i took him to mean Rees would show himself by next summer to be the better choice at quarteback. (ie Crist will be sending in signals/backing up for his remaining two years)

i dont necessarily agree with the argument, but i think thats what he was saying.

He has looked good for his first (nearly) full game for a true freshman working with the 2nd team, has he made mistakes? YES, have they ALL been his fault NO, since i realize this isnt the "return to glory" season, i am excited to se what Tommy can do

My post specifically referred to his difficulties in getting back on the field next year. How is that confusing? I know people like Dayne, but it's getting ridiculous with the grasping at straws for reasons to call me stupid rather than respond to what I've said.

Dayne has two years of eligibility left, Rees will have three, and Hendrix 4. Dayne will be out for spring practice, it's hardly a guarantee that he gets back on the field under the circumstances.

But it's easier to just outright call me and idiot or imply I'm an idiot than face reality.

I don't think it's a given that Dayne will be starting again at ND. He'll get an oppurtunity, but he will have a ton of work to do in a short period of time. Especially is he misses spring ball.

Don't let facts get in the way of his argument? Don't let facts get in the way of your love for Crist.

Dayne has struggled to pick up the offense in his time play. (Fact)

Dayne will be out for a very long time. Either 3 months, or 6 + if he is in a cast, depends on the severity of the injury. His time, if he can practice in spring ball, will be limited. (Fact)

Tommy Reese- Will have 4 games of expierence, and maybe a 5th if the team makes a bowl. Those 15 practices will be huge for him is they go bowling. (Fact)

Tommy Reese/Hendrix will have more time in the system, therefore being more comfortable, and knowing the play book. (Fact)

Dayne will have a chance to compete, but he's got a huge hill to climb. If he misses the spring, he has no chance of starting.

Believe so... with 8-10 months of rehab.

I googled some research. It depends on if its casted after the surgery. We'll know more once we find out the severity of it. It could be 3-4 months it its not severed badly.

He wasn't much of a Leader to begin with mate but it does totally suck to see him leave like that.
Lets just hope/pray that Reese has got something him besides peanut butter :D :D lol (that was soooo lame ;) ).

GO TOMMY GO TOMMY!

Nice kid with good intentions but a fish out of water. HE should transfer to a school with a pro style offense. HE needs to decide if he wants to keep playing football and go elsewhere or get a degree from ND. From I've seen so far I would opt for the degree.

i truely hate it for him...he's caught alot of heat (some from me), but he's really not been very good...i too doubt that he's gonna be a factor in the qb race in the future...hope he's able to rehab and come back, but its probably just gonna be in a back up role
