The fall from the top is over after 15 years, we have hit the bottom. Our first year quarterback is struggling and our new defense couldn't stop an offense as commonplace as Navy with their awful, untalented QB. I have defended the Irish in the past but no longer, i simply cannot have faith in a coach who is 500. in his first season. Sure Scout.com SAYS we have the #2 recruiting class in the nation, but since when do recruits win games? We are no longer the unbeatable giant we were just 20 years ago, we have hit the bottom, the sky is falling and im running for cover under the roof of shame. Notre Dame will soon loose its contract with NBC, its agreement with the BCS and will be relegated to Confrece USA, and eventually Div II, perhaps we may be lucky enough to get a few games on DirectTV like Harvard and Yale, but its time to face the facts the Echos, have gone silent. We must all burn our ND gear, smash our childhood dreams, and go hang ourselves while playing "Hail to the Victors" on our stereos Just my totally real, 100% accurate findings, based on this season alone. Farewell Irish Fans, it was fun while it lasted....

I am a Cleveland fan. Therefore, this is what I get to root for

-The Indians finished in second last in a week AL Central this year. We have talent but just can't win because when our talent is good enough, we lose it to teams that can outspend out penny-pinching owner.
-The Browns are terrible
-Need I say more about the Cavaliers?
-Notre Dame. I wasn't alive during the glory days. I have only seen one bowl win (and it was the Hawaii Bowl for Christ's sake.)

Why can't one of my teams win something for a change? Luckily, I'm still in high school, so when I go to college (I would love to go to ND, but let's face it. not gonna happen.) I won't have the constant heartbreak of losing anymore, because no matter where I go their football program will be better then ND's is right now.

I think all the bandwagon fans jump ship back in the 90's. We are 20-25 over the last for seasons, any fan still here is a real fan.

Ya know, I think everyone should post as they see fit...and be guided by the mods. I like a little pissed off, angry fan dialog myself. I expect it...

what chaps my *** is the volumes of horse**** admonishing the angry guys...devoid of anything analytical...it makes finding the analysis and views barried in this stuff twice as hard...

I'm all for playing 2nd/3rd string guys now for experience and help next year. It does not matter if Notre Dame wins another game after today and really some of the young guys looked excited to be out there. Is there much of a difference between 6-6 or 5-7 or 4-8. This is rock bottom. I'd play the rest of the games like a spring game to see what I had and who wants to play next year. I hear all this talk about burning red shirts and future national championships-you must be joking.

I am sure glad none of us are Irish coaches or admin! One of my best friends, who is not an ND fan, (some team in the Big Ten), said it all, "what do you expect?" and "This is a free year, any wins are better than the garbage you have been through?" Also, "Kelly will turn things around; no good coach walks in these days to a distressed program and wins big out of the chute, expecting anything else is denial or dysfunction." His words have a wisdom . . .

This is just a little message for some people who have gone beyond "we lost this SUCKS!" and are now proclaiming "ND can NEVER WIN AGAIN!" To them I say thanks for sharing, but if you really dont believe in Notre Dame then just stop posting, and go over to the Oregon boards (i think NDOM can introduce you to some of his new friends) Bottom line, im fine with people who are pissed because we lost I AM TOO, but if you have totally lost faith in the irish, then this might not be the place for you.

Navy's offense is not commonplace and their "awful" QB broke the NCAA record for rushing TDs last year. Missouri is undefeated and just beat Oklahoma. Their last lost was in the Texas Bowl in Dec--a whipping by--yes--Navy. (35-13)
