I thought Goodman looked great on Saturday: ran clean routes, caught everything thrown his way, and got a few YACs when he could. Personally, I think he starts over TJ for a few weeks and starts returning kick-offs as well as punts.
As for Hughes, tougher to say. He didn't make an appearance till border-line garbage time. He doesn't really have the lateral quickness for the Kelly spread. On the other hand, he does have the best hands of all the ND RBs and he can pass block. Which I'm sure Dayne would appreciate.
So, in sum...there is now a defense on film that stops the spread (rush 3, drop 8, still get pressure anyways). Goodman (a good possession receiver) and Hughes (a good pass-protection/pass-catching back) seem like good tools for defeating that particular coverage. Thoughts?
