Why not move Ragone to outside linebacker

I think the biggest problem on defense is that there is no production coming from the outside linebacker position opposite Flemming. Neal is to small and slow, and Brian Smith just isn't any good. Why not move Mike Ragone to out outside linebacker? Hes big, athletic, and was an outstanding defensive end in high school.

Why not, he isn't doing anyone any good at Third String TE.... play him on both sides in practice and see how it goes..

Not a bad idea, IMO. We can then ease Alex Welch or Bobby Burger into the third spot on the depth chart.

At first I thought this was a crazy idea, but you guys might have convinced me. I didn't know he was a stud DE back in the day.

I was at the game in San Antonio last year when he ran down that DB... Mike can flat out fly.... again... why wouldn't we give it a shot

...is there anyway someone can slip a note to BK to this effect ??

with all that's bgone on so far this season, I have a weird feeling the coaching staff hasn't even thought about it

Guys, it is an interesting idea, but very very unlikely to happen. He has already said "We are who we are there." This was in reference to the OLB position.

that quote is scary... " we are who we are there" = " We are scratching our heads too"

is it just me or does BK seem a little... bullheaded?

not many adjustments during a game, nor from week to week, little to no personnel changes, sames excuses/reasons for losses/failures week after week

and yes, that quote is scary... and if you think WE find a quote like that scary, imagine what the PLAYERS are thinking if he is sending the same message to them.

I hate to be so negative, especially after only 4 games, but my love is lukewarm for BK right now.

Oh, and I hate the "spread offense" and "bend don't break" defense. Seeing Harbaugh's team last saturday gave me "Stanford envy" !
GIVE ME MORE TEO HITS !!GIVE ME SMASHMOUTH FOOTBALL !!
GIVE ME ND FOOTBALL DAMNIT !!!

I think the reason he is bull headed is he has had so much success everywhere he has been. I hope his message is this: " Stay the Course, the process works, we are in the early stages, we are on schedule, success can only be secured with sacrifice...etc"

Of course that what the message is and should be.

Why in God's name would we go to 'Smashmouth' football now? It takes a while for this to get in place.

Michigan and Oregon are great examples of what staying the course in the spread looks like.

e wants to win now but lets give bk an adjustment period and stay off his back. it takes a little while for the system to get in place and the players that best fit for that system. he's been here 4 games so everybody step away from ledge and and relax. there is going to be mistakes when you teach kids a new system and it's going to take time for them to truely get it.he has a track record and if he has time i believe he will turn this program around. what can it hurt we have not been the true nd for a couple of years now so if it takes another year i'm right with him to get this thing back where it needs to be.

Why not move Deion Walker to Safety
Why not let Hughes play OLB
Why not let Toma play CB

This thread is like all those threads saying _____ should never play again. If everyone's favorite potential player (Filer) cant see PT, what makes you guys think a TE will?

I would be more convinced if you guys said have him play OT but this is ridiculous. Good thing no one here coaches because every player would be cut for making a bad play

Sorry fellas, but if you can't see the adjustments BK makes at halftime than you aren't watching the game. Against Stanford, it was bad the whole time, but the way we looked in the previous games in the third quarter was beautiful. Went in at half, adjusted to what they were doing and came out firing and scoring td's, this guy and this staff know how to make adjustments..........As for the switching players all around stuff goes, it's not that simple. Mike Ragone is a good athlete, but this is D-1 football fellas, not high school. His high school stats are indicative of him being a superior athlete to most of his competition, not a player in the wrong position. This is the second staff that thought he should be a tight end, so that's what he is.
