ISD trying to scoop the university by piecing together the schedule based on reports in the media. So far looking mighty interesting:

Sept. 3 against South Florida at home
Sept. 10 at Michigan
Sept 17 home with Michigan State
Sept. 24 at Pittsburgh
Oct. 1 at Purdue
Oct. 8, 2011 Air Force at home
Oct. 22 at home with USC
Oct. 29 at home with Navy
Nov. 5 at home with Wake Forest
Nov. 12 against Maryland at FedEx Field
Nov. 26 at Stanford

the BC game is the last to be slotted, with Oct 15 or Nov 19th the open dates. Nice slate of home games through October though.

Now back to your regularly scheduled 2010 season.

Cool...Lou Holtz will be looking forward to that season opener. That's going to be a tough game.

These schedules are meat grinders.

If we ever get things turned around (huge question mark, btw) and can get even a 1 loss season over the next 4 or 5 years, we should be locks for the BS title game. Probably won't GET it, thanks to National envy/hate, but....

Any news on WHY they abandoned the 7-4-1?

Here's how I see things going down...

2011 = 9-3/10-2/11-1. We have a ton of returning starters and improve. We catch some breaks along the way. Losses will probably be to Michigan and Stanford.

2012 = 8-4/9-3. We lose Cave, Robinson and Dever on the OL, as well as Johnson, Fleming, Filer, Smith, Gray and Blanton on D. Floyd and Rudolph, too, if they somehow miraculously stay for 2011. The schedule's brutal, too.

2013 = 8-4/9-3/10-2. Not as brutal as 2012. Michigan will be breaking in a new non-Denard starter. USC will be beginning to feel the effects of their penalties and will be breaking in a new QB. I think this could be a decent year.

2014 = National title? Fifth-year Hendrix leads the way to paradise.

Air Force? I didn't realize we were playing them. I always root for the service academies, but we owe them payback from 2007.

This looks like a decent schedule. We will face many of our common games with a few new additions. Hope we have a better start next season..., lol.

I will be the one to say that our current scheduling ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Swarbick better take a look around at those schools who are getting to the BCS every year. They are scheduling atleast 3-4 total deadbeat cupcakes. Then they have 3 mid tier opponents and really only about 3-4 tough games.

Prime example, look at OSU this season. They play total cupcakes Marshall, Ohio and Eastern MI to build momentum. Then they have Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota as Big Ten bottom feeders. They really only have 4 tough games.

We are scheduling Pac 10 powers, Big 12 powers, ACC powers, Big East Powers and you have a recipe for season with 3-4 losses every year. ND will never win a National Title much less get into the BCS in today's 12 game schedules where most teams schedule many softies with a few premier games.

I could have not said it any better. Living in Columbus I hate hearing about how great OSU is. The only thing I will give them is that their schedule makers are smart. They have a pre-season built into their schedule. Easy warm-up games.

We have to take the games when we have the opportunity. No team is going to play us when their conference schedule is in full swing. In order to keep the rivalries going, we need to either schedule them real early or real late. It's unfortunate, but I don't think there's anything we can do about it except give up a Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, or USC game...

I think we're headed for lost rivalry games in the near future.

You've seen a 3 min highlight video and you think he's the savior?

Hendrix is a solid QB. He's mobile and has a great arm. There's a reason Meyer was going after him towards the end.

Mauk could be a silent verbal at the moment. He is currently leading the nation in passing yards.

Conney looks to be pretty good, but who knows.

2011 - 10-2

2012 - 9-3 / 10-2

2013 - 8-4 / 9-3

Well, we'll definitely be losing rivalry games in the future with the Big 10 as they push for nine game intraconference schedules. That'll leave just 3 weeks, so it'd be tight fitting in Purdue, Michigan, and MSU. Add to that fact that the Big 10 teams will have 5 away game scheduled for intraconference every other year, and to keep up revenue will keep their 3 nonconference games at home to make 7 home games. I expect MSU will be dropped, though the media rumblings did point out Michigan may bow out of the yearly series for a spell...if we do drop one of them, a cupcake wouldn't be a bad substitute to build confidence and work out kinks in the offense.

How can you realistically project how the team will do 3-4 yrs. from now when you can't even project how they complete the current season?!?
