They haven't run into the situation yet where they need a guy to jump out of a pool a water, landing on the side feet first. {sarcasm}
He has the size and speed. I would imagine it's his head that's not getting him on the field.
I'm not sure that they shouldn't move Teo outside. He doesn't appear to have the strength to shed the blocks of linemen, but he certainly has the speed to play outside.

That's the thing. So what if Brian Smith can tell the coaches where he should be on every given play...he is never there during the game. Same with Neal. Why is Manti given a pass for mistakes but Filer does not even get the chance.
Not sure if serious? Teo is a perfect fit at ILB. He has 32 tackles in 3 games.
Of course I am serious. Go back and look at the game, from the second half of the 3rd quarter on............ they were gashing our D with runs right at Teo. But regardless..........Teo is nowhere near a dominating ILB. And we desperately need help (and speedy help) at OLB... Teo is the fastest ILB, so why not try him outside?
By the way...........defenses are almost all exclusively designed to funnel plays towards the ILBs. ILBs are supposed to get lots of tackles.
Te'o IS THE PERFECT FIT to play inside. Moose has been downgrading him since the beginning of the season. Once you get that opinion in your head, I guess there's no losing it. He's been arguably our best/most consistent player on D along with Gary.

I'm not the only one that has pointed out that Teo is not playing near the level of the hype he got, or the adulation that he gets, on here. Why is he the perfect fit? Are you saying that offensive linemen haven't had their way with him?
In earlier threads, people made excuses for Teo's missed tackles, saying "at least he turned the guy back inside toward the pursuit." Well guess what...........Teo IS "the pursuit"!! So he turned guys back inside toward where HE should be, to make the play. I'm not saying that Teo is a no-talent hack. I'm merely suggesting that it is possible that he would better serve the TEAM, by trying some OLB.
And I "merely" suggest that he belongs in the middle. His production is fine at this point. He is after all a sophomore and still growing. Why is he being held to a different standard than the other guys on the defense....??? Because he was a 5 star? I've learn long ago to ignore stars and let kids develop.
As I said before, you've had him pigeon holed from the beginning of the season. You can argue all you want about putting him outside....he belongs inside and will grow to be one of the best we've ever had at the position.
I said maybe they should try him outside.........your response was that he is THE PERFECT FIT inside. Which of those statements sounds more like a mere suggestion? Drink the koolaid all you want. I know I shouldn't be pissed off about your response, but I am. You make it sound like I've been dogging the guy since before the season started, and that just ain't true. He's a solid inside backer. But it looks like Calabrese is playing pretty solidly as well. We have two inside backers playing well, but not one outside backer. It seems pretty reasonable, to me, to think that maybe we ought to try one of those inside guys outside. Since Teo has great speed, it might as well be him.

And I wouldn't suggest he move outside.... He's of the perfect mold to play inside. Why rob Peter to pay Paul... The outside guys aren't doing their jobs so weaken the inside to play a guy out of position? I don't get it.
Because sometimes the whole is made stronger, even if one of it's parts is made weaker.
i don't know some people think the Notre Dame Ship is sinking, so he may need that ability soon
