We have been beating ourselves. Anyone remember the Purdue game? We won handily but really were close to putting at least another ten points on the board. More often than not our guys are in a position to succeed rather than relying on some stud to out jump a corner fifty yards down the field every other play. Once this offense clicks, scoring less than 40 will cause doom and gloom threads because it will be so unusual.

Our defense lacks depth and experience. We have two safeties that can play right now! Our D-line hasn't had depth for a generation. IMO the defense is much improved. Three & outs were almost non-existent with Weis. 3rd down conversions are under 40%. The fundamentals are showing, consistency is improving.

ND is 3-2, we beat ourselves twice. I feel like we deserved to win the last two weeks where the last few years I usually felt like we we lucky to have a 4th quarter shot at it.

I think one thing we don't realize is that its not just a new coach.
-Its a new culture
- new system
- new day to day schedule
- new things that we have no idea about
- new things that the new players have no idea about.
- new things that the old players have no idea about
- new disciplinary system

I think the reason Brian Kelly has been so successful in his coaching stops is because of his ability to have control over his program. (not in a bad way like he is a control freak) He has a system that he believes and he gets his staff and players to believe in as well. He has a system that is ran and he will not stray from that system, he believes in it and it will not derail. Willingham didn't have a system and Weis didn't know what a system was. Everything is changing, everything is new, when Kelly changes something another change that normally follows is the WINS, which would be a new change. be patient.

If I also here one more person say "how can I be more patient" I think I may punch my computer......It's been three games!!!!!!!!! There is a reason as a new coach you get a 4-5 year contract. That is the max amount of time that you should get in order turn your program around.

- Its been 3 games.... I used to think that the Irish had some of the more educated fans in college football. Now I'm thinking as a collective group we may have some of the biggest idiots in the game!!! People act like you have a clue about modern day college football!!!!

Its only been 3 GAMES!!!! Seriously!!???? Give this team and the coaching staff a break already! We all want to win..., We want to win now.., Got it.., I feel the same way and I also get frustrated and want to destroy a tv after a tough loss, but I am not about to give up on anything yet. We will have a decent year..., great...., no..., but it will be decent and at the end of the year when all the dust is settled we will see we have a darn good football team. I want to win every single game.., I want National Championships every year..., but that is not realistic. We will lose some games and we will win some. We need to give the coaching staff, players and the new system a chance to develop. It will take time, but we have been patient in the last several years, and BK has only been here for 3 games. Let's see how the rest of the season pans out. We have some tough games ahead, but we will win some good football games. Patience!

I think everyone is down because these losses seem similar to losses we saw under the previous staff, but they are not related. Patience is difficult, but wins are coming. I know this doesn't help because for most of us, our hearts have been ripped out through out asses.

If I were this coach and coaching staff I would play it the same way. Gamble ,#$%@ yes, whats to lose. Your a little out gunned on defense and you can score with the best of them. He's trying to instill an attitude here. When they are a great team and are in a close game in a year or two he will play it different because he will have the horses to get it done. Man the difference in this team jumps out at you on the eyeball test. Our fan base needs to consider the scenario here and judge this team on the group you see at the coloseium in Nov. I bet $$$ that its improved, game , and ready for battle the next few years. Winning comes second right now to how you play and how you prepare to play. Be prepared they are not going to beat Stanford and will split with Pitt/BC.
