Am i the only one noticed that it was CLEARLY a delay of game penalty? I actually assumed the broken play was because one of the refs blew the play dead. What BS man.

how is it they can never catch a break??? first the phantom block in the back on the punt return that insured OT and then the delay of game!!!

Yeah, that's what I saw. Complete crap!

You have to at least cover for a fake, play a zone FG block on the long FG and let the kid try to make a 46 yarder.

Either way, we got hosed and our safeties are just not very good most of the time.

that's an understatement. at least zeke is young and has room to improve. harrison though, he's just an athlete that has no clue what he's doing.

The 2 we have played the whole game. Zeke made a couple mistakes, but he also made a couple good plays including a great open field tackle in the first half that killed adrive for MSU. Those dudes had to be tired.

Nd definitely needs Slaughter and McCarthy back...those safeties need some rotation.

That is one of the main reason they aren't very good most of the time. Zeke takes terrible angles at the runner. Harrison made some nice plays and I didn't notice him much of the game which is a good thing I guess.

We need our other 2 safeties badly. Why hasn't Austin Collinsworth or Robby Toma been given a shot at the position. Both would be undersized but are fast and tackling is a teachable skill(maybe I am wrong on that, haven't played organized ball since pee wee)

Pan up on that screen shot. The stadium clock says 0 too. This will NEVER become a story, will it....

The best view was on the ABC broadcast in slow motion. because they had the scoreboard in the upper right corner. While the numbers are small...you can clearly distinguish that it runs out right before the snap.

I don't think ESPN will harp on the delay of game issue because this really was a good game that turned into an INSTANT CLASSIC because of that last play.

I MEAN SERIOUSLY!!!!! I will post this all night! Can't you challenge that play? If you can review a spot, can't you review a play clock if its visible on camera?

I'm still waiting for them to bring the team back out on the field. Program interruption on "the Ocho" is coming any second now......

Oh, you guys didn't hear - the Big Ten doesn't keep a play clock in OT.

ESPN finally brought up the play clock on the Stanford halftime show. Blew it off. Typical.

As they should have. Look, its a ****ty call and believe me: at the end of the game I was looking for anything that would have negated that play. Pass interference, holding, play clock, 12 man on, you name it.

But the fact of the matter is that the play clock did not have any effect on the play. I imagine it was a close call, the refs let the players settle things on the field, MSU got the job done.

It sucks, but no reason to keep yelling about this.

It did have an effect on the play. They were unable to execute the play in the allotted time given for a play. The fact that they scored a touchdown by snapping the ball a second after the play clock expired affected the play.

It sucks to have to whine about this, but it's the facts. Too many bad calls/no calls go the other way to not make sure this is a point of contention. D played balls out the first 3 snaps of that OT possession.

I would let it go if we didn't have 2 delay of game penalties that were close as well.

Once again, ND got screwed.

The play that really pisses me off is the phantom block in the back on the return. If the ref 8 yards away, looking right at it, doesn't call it, how can a ref from 30 call it? WTF!!

what was the shelf life of the colorado vs. missouri extra down controversy? and the delay of game no call is a cursory note in the highlights? ND got a stoofing with no reach around!!!! i totally agree on the phantom block in the back, the game would have been settled in regulation if it hadn't been called!

here are emails for Jim Delany and the coordinator of officials for the big 10 conference Bob Corollo...I suggest you write them. I wrote them last year and drilled them about the Armando Allen "out of bounds" play...they actually wrote back...I did the same with the PAC 10 on the Grimes Catch against Stanford...they wrote back too...

I will say I was pissed on both, but I didn't use any profanity, and made my points...give 'em hell!

Lets say the delay of game was called...MSU lines up and runs the same play and still scores. Did you see how much space the receiver had to score that TD? Lets not hang our heads over something that wouldn't have made a difference anyway.

According to Kelly, the defender assigned to him fell down. They planned for the play.
