I am disappointed in us all..

Today, a team we like lost a close football game. But what i thought was sad was that TWO different posters were banned because they were so reckless in their posting. Many others said stupid things that were purely emotional. Its sad when GROWN MEN have to be kicked out of a SPORTS FORUM. I understand if something slips out of you mouth at home watching the game, but its a forum where you have to MAKE THE EFFORT to type in your comment and post it. Today i almost lost faith in this website, its just disappointing, this is one loss, what happens if we drop 4 or 5 more games? Will people just leave, or will this site just become a catalyst for "FIRE KELLY" I know we can be better than this, its the first game, and I believe we can work past this support our team, win or lose, what would Goshen Gipper think of this? He WAS irish envy! if i were him i would be ashamed, sorry to go on this long rant, and it might seem hypocritical, but i felt i needed to speak up here. I love you guys like brothers, but if you're just going to cuss out our players and coaches, i, and many others, will just post elsewhere, lets clean up our act guys, Go Irish.

Actually you don't have to be disappointed at "us all", I thought that quite a lot of the posters held it together and just rocked with their ups and downs [psychiatrically admittedly, but they were just being "boys", which I suspect some of them are anyway]. As far as profanity is concerned, I'd like that to stop too--it's irritating and a prop for not having anything intelligent to say to the rest of us. As far as criticizing players and coaches in an over-the-top manner, well, as my brothers used to say: the guy has probably never taken a snap himself and has no clue what it's like to really be in the action. Lastly, It wouldn't stun me if some of our "board Bros" watched the game smashed and loaded up with testosterone. Well, no excuse, but makes the crap which comes out of their mouths a bit more understandable as to how otherwise good guys can lose their minds so badly. Hey! This game showed me that we're pretty darn good. If we can keep Crist on the field, we'll be very hard to beat.

I don't necessarily take issue with your post, but I caution folks holding grudges or over reacting based on what happens over on game day...YOU ARE GETTING THE IMMEDIATE REACTION FROM A GUY IN HIS LIVING ROOM...it is a testament to this forum that folks are somewhat uninhibited...some of the best stuff comes from some of these guys off the cuff...it would detract from the site if we got all Nancy, pinky out...

You have to take things with a grain of salt in the heat of the moment. Indeed we are men... and what separates us from the stereotypical woman is our ability to punch each other in the mouth, and then laugh about it over a beer...simply because we are in a forum doesn't change our nature

If we are going to become the streotypical self-escalating, grudge-holding women about it...mods should shut down the scrolling gameday thread and let folks PM to "safe" people.

I'm not defending or condemning anyone...I just like this site as well...it has great thinkers, great commedians, and some of the best fans I've ever come across...and it has a non-formal flavor that makes it seem like you are in a basement with your boys whooping it up, and it makes it tops in my book. Hate to see that change.
