No we GAVE Michigan too many opportunities to win and they cashed it in. Turnovers killed us in the 1st half wich made it a 21-7 game, they had the ball for way too long

The only bad decision that Kelly made was going for it at the end of the 2nd quarter. He should have kicked the field goal.

If Dayne Crist was in the game, then that call is understandable. But Montana was in the game so field goal was the best choice. If we had those 3 points, we could have kicked at the end of the game to win it.

And no I'm not saying this in hindsight. At the time there was 3 seconds on the clock, I was screaming from the stands to kick the field goal.

Other than that, Kelly did an outstanding coaching job. The rest falls on the players themselves.

I have some amateur psychology about the Kelly decision to go for the TD and not the field goal. I believe that the entire team was shook up by Crist's injury and was doubting themselves. Only a few like Armando Allen were tough enough to rise up and say "we're still going to smack you in the mouth". [I by the way gained TREMENDOUS upgrades of respect for Allen this game]. Kelly thought that the team needed a dramatic shot in the arm to get their mojo back. A field goal wasn't going to accomplish that [even though under other circumstances it was the correct call]. He wanted fire-in-the-belly going into the locker-room for halftime. So, he, not playing it safe, rolled the dice and played to win. OK, it didn't work. But I think it's pretty presumptuous of us to assume that he didn't have what he felt were good reasons for doing what he did. Right or wrong in the end, this was not a mindless stupid act by our coach, who still has my profound admiration.

This is a joke, right? The Defense bailed the offense out, (minus 2 big plays) ALL FREAKING DAY LONG! Diaco got passive on the last drive, but they played a great damn game in my opinion.

There are still questions on the D, I think they played really good considering but i still have questions on depth and in the secondary. I will say i am very impressed with Calabrese so far. I did not think he would be so effective this early

Our defense couldnt stop Denard in the first half and they were getting the ball after halftime. Crist was not a certain in the second half and we had no momentum. Of course there are still question Jay....It's week 2 in a long season. That said, Manti, Carlo and the boys "held the fort" until Dayne could get his shit straight. Very impressed with the D today.
