I watched the UM running plays against UCon. Here are ND's from last week via YouTube. There are a number of plays where Crist handed off but could have kept the ball for big gains. Remember the early play where Kerrigan had a big TFL. Look at what's in front of Crist if he had kept it. Did Crist make the right reads or were these called plays rather than option reads?

i agree, I just wonder if Kelly told him try not to run it to protect his knee. But holy crap, Cierre has to get more touches. His vision is obviously superior to Armando's. I wonder if he has had trouble holding on to the ball in practice or something. Love Armando, but Cierre Wood is obviously going to be a game breaker.

Armando had a nice game. But, man, Cierre is dynamic (Kelly's word...love it). He's got a burst that we haven't seen around here for a while.

Thanks for the post, BGIF.

I watched the UM/UCONN game last night. I believe our running game will be even better because UM's defensive line is not aggressive as Purdue's. Another reason will be because the linebackers and safeties will have to cheat back because of the depleted corners that have left or are injured. My three cents (recession needs an extra cent).

A lot of play-action can kill UM's defense by what I watched last night.

I also remember the opposite being true...some of his keepers looked like he should have handed off the ball (haven't watched the video yet.)

I think we have a big game on the ground against Michigan. I love the combination of Armando and Cierre. Im sorry but I still think Armando is the better back right now. Maybe by the end of the year Cierre moves ahead of him but part of the reason theyre so good together is because they keep eachother fresh.

Particularly on a play down near the goal line when he tried to take it in himself instead of handing off to the RB with pulling OLs in front of him. Which is why I asked,

Did Crist make the right reads or were these called plays rather than option reads?
