How would you grade Kelly's coaching debut?

I would give it an A- . The only disappointment I had was the play call while we had our backs against the wall and gave up a safety. A high point for me was the play of the D line and discipline we showed resulting in only a couple of penalties.

B... I don't give A's easily. I hope to issue one after this week however. I just pray that was mostly vanilla we saw. I have no doubt he is the right man for the job, I just hope we have more electricity in the generator for UM.

I was an indifferent fan of Kelly leading up to the game. I lean in his favor now. The man can take a hit and spit it back with class. I am rooting for the man, beyond ND football. If I could add a rock to his foundation, I would. The man has a herculean task ahead of him and it looks like he is holding up well so far.

I give A's easily on the spot when it is earned. I am not that arrogant. I will also give an F on the spot when it seems appropriate.

If a person earns a 100 on a test, I give that person a 100. I don't give him/her a 90 just in case they don't pan out and prove to me, the Almighty, that they will eventually repeat.

No grade inflation. Requiring a body of work for a single test where someone aced it and lowering his score is exactly what I am talking about with arrogance of teachers.

One test. One grade. There will be other tests where you can grade individually. And give an A- or an F. Then you average all and get the final grade. This time, Kelly receives an A.

Anyone scoring less than an A needs to justify beyond, "yeah but, let's see what he does later..."

If a person earns a 100 on the test that means they got all the answers correct. This game was more of a quiz with subjective material rather than a mathematics test of actual proofs. This week is the math test.

As many have pointed out, overall there was significant improvement from recent years. But considerably more still to get to an "A".

Kelly didn't lose the ball or miss the blocks but HIS guys did.

Err I just did... I *AM* a kool-aid guy and I still say a B. When you get 100% on a test that means you did everything you were supposed to do and earned it. If you don't do 100% that means you have earned less. This team will need a few games to get the crispness in it while functioning under fire. Winning Saturday will move me a lot more towards the B+ to A side.

It wasn't a bad play call, there were two ND offensive linemen that both missed their assignments.From the one yard line there arent that many plays that can be called, so no the call wasnt the problem.

Kelly gets an A from me. He had the kids pumped and ready to go.Defense was good,and he didnt show us all of the offense.I bet he's saved a lot of tricks up his sleeves for michigan.
