With all of the hoopla surrounding the impressive results of Longo's training regimen, it's obvious there will be some great improvement from several players on the team. Out of all of those players, who do you think will be the most improved, and provide the biggest impact, in 2010?

I'll go with Chris Stewart on offense. All of that improvement will begin to show on the offensive line, with Stewart leading the way with powerful interior blocking, giving 'Mando and Cierre the chance to get into space.

Defensively, it has to be Ethan Johnson. Now that he's back in his natural position and with his strength gone way up, I'm intensely psyched for his potential to break out this year.

Honorable mention: Duval Kamara. 500+ yards, 5 TDs.

I mean statistically i have to go with Crist, but Stewart should rock opposing d lines, on D ethan johnson or Te'o, both will record huge tackles and TFO, as well as sacks for ethan, (btw i wasnt sure if you JUST ment lineman so i posted both)

Te'o will be the make the biggest impact on the team. More games will equate to more experience. He will only get better each game he plays.

Hayseed! Coach will get his head right, and with a more effective front 7 he should be able to concentrate on doing his job.
Hopefully he wont have to make 100+ tackles but 60-70 would be nice. Mayhaps a few turnovers for points?

I'm going to go with Darius Fleming on defense.

I just think he needed to be a little more fundamentally sound and he would be close to being the most explosive player on defense. I think with the new staff he gets the fundamental side, I already believe he has the explosive side. I can't wait to watch him attack the quarterback off the outside.

Trick question...

Because of Longo's program, improved schemes, and the overall improvement of the offensive line (Stewart included), the most improved will be Armando Allen*. He'll finally put up the numbers we expected for the last 2 years.

*statistically

Floyd...the lack of a major injury will be a marked improvement.
I anticipate some big time yardage for him this season. Tate's record will be threatened.

Not that he needs improvement!
Oh Defense its gotta be line...the whole unit...Williams specifically
and for Offense I'll take Allen or Kumara

The biggest impact SHOULD be the ability to close out football games. The Defense has the playmakers, its just needed the conditioning.

Crist has the chance to shine with all the weapons on offense.
If Allen can either pick up a half step of speed or learn how to push thru a shoe string tackle he could break some big runs and have a great year.

I think its gotta be the backfield in general. Armando has to show up strong this year and put up the numbers we have been waiting for. Due to the fact that BK likes to use all of his weapons, I dont think Armando will put up overall big yardage, Im concerned with yards per carry and yards after contact. I look for Cierre to really show up this year in space. I think a solid front line gets our backs that 2 yard cushion to hit full speed.

Most improved of 2010???

It's my humble opinion that it would be difficult to single out any one player here as there are so many positions of need/improvement.

I'm looking for a major upgrade in team chemistry. Let's face it folks. The upperclassmen, who certainly were not devoid of talent, certainly were not short of egotistm. And that led from the top down and it showed in the play of a very young team.

Those players are now gone... For better or worse. Now, with another year under their belts, the cliques are no longer and they'll be able to lean on and depend on one another again. It's no secret as we've read that some of Jimmah's teammates really didn't get along with him. How can you be a true leader if you don't have the respect of your men? That said, and just based on things I've read, Dayne may just be the man to take the straps here and make some noise. He's got a world of talent, he's well liked and respected, he's smarter than hell and he's a good kid. I'll take my chances with a kid like that rather than the one who needs Hummer Limo Police Escorts, mommy and daddy hovering over the program and a sense of entitlement which was never earned.

Give 'em Hell, Dayne.

How about Brian Smith? He is back to playing OLB, where he shined his freshman year.

Yes so many players who could be improved...On offense I'm hoping for Duval Kumara to have a Mo Stoval type season.
On Deffense I'm thinking and hoping Gary Gray will be the most improved and be a shutdown corner.

That's a bit harsh. All JC did was play hurt all season for a sucky coach. Attack our players again, and you are done here.....oh wait....lol

LOL....Is it?

Oh, and Bill Buckner played hurt too. Was he a hero? Mookie Wilson thinks so I'm sure... Where did that end him up?

I'm going with Darrin Walls. He was downright awful last year and I think that that year off really hurt him. With a strong D-Line, all of the corners should improve, but I look forward to Walls becoming the shutdown corner that we all thought he'd be when he first came to ND.

I was going to say the same thing. Thanks for saving me the time.

Pray to God it's Harrison Smith.

i echo those sentiments. i am going to go out on a limb and say this kid cannot play as dumb as he has played the last several years. i look for him to be a strong bounceback player of the year candidate with proper coaching this year. sadly, he along with the rest of the defense has been cheated by the weis regime.
