not sure how many people are MLB fans, but just heard on the radio at the auction for the Texas Rangers Mark Cuban just bid 332 million to buy the team.

if he wins i would almost say the Rangers will become the Yankees of the south. i don't think Cuban would hesitate to spend any amount of money to win

I thought it was pretty funny to see "Mark Cuban vs. Nolan Ryan" in a headline about this story. Never thought I'd ever see it.

Wow. Thats very interesting. I think if Cuban DID buy the team they may start to be competative again. Should be interesting to say the least.

Is it like The Price Is Right and someone can now bid like $332,000,001?

Yea they will most likely go to the playoffs this year and Cuban will spend the money on players. Plus correct me if I'm wrong, there isn't state income tax in Texas. Which there is in NY and Mass...

Lmao, u see how pissed the other bidders get when that happens? I love it!

I have seen contestants, on a couple of instances, pull that trick, but they forgot they weren't the last bidder, so the next dude just goes one dollar higher again! That is truly priceless!

I was watching it the other day and this lady asked Drew Carey what the 2 previous bids were. Drew said "800 and 1200 dollars". She repeated them just to make sure and then she made her bid. She screamed "799!!!!!!!!!!" and was genuinely excited. It really stunned me.

You still have to be approved by the Owner even if the team is bankrupt...we should have pooled some money together...I wonder if they would take vbucks

Winner of the IE fantasy football league gets enough vbucks to buy the Texas Rangers.

NOW they do. But not really so much in the past.

they have been average over the last ten years... remember all the title they won in the 90's though??? they were in the playoffs constantly... 80s and before... okay.

but they have been a very respectable franchise for at least 20 years or so...

anyway, I'll be stunned and pissed if Cuban gets them over Nolan Ryan's team...

1.) Why do you let him buy the Rangers after you stop him from getting the Cubs??... stupid move on MLB's part.
2.) The Rangers would be a year in year out contender with the Angels... Moreno vs. Cuban would be interesting to see over teh next 15 years or so... both have very deep pockets and take winning over turning profits.
