I'm unfamiliar with him other than his draft and other analysis on NFL Network, so does he have any announcing history? I suppose it is just the same thing, only at the live event instead of commenting on film.

I'm not certain, but if I remember correctly (I haven't seen a Vikings pre-season non network game since I've moved to Florida) he did do some commentary in the past.

i agree. i only know of him from the nfl draft analyst side of the fence, but he's very insightful and knows the game. hopefully he does a better job than haden did.

To me this is the 2nd biggest commit of the weekend after Aaron Lynch. Mike Mayock is one of the most knowlegable people in football especially when it comes to player development. He doesn't pull punches so we will have an honest analyst

I could give a crap where he went to school as long as he does a good job. Give him a change before you give him an opinion. Plus his role before was to give an honest analysyst and opinion. I like the hire.
