According to ESPN, Poteat has cut his final list to Pittsburgh, Notre Dame, USC, Florida, Iowa, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Illinois and Connecticut. Might be on campus this Thursday.
Opps typo! That what happens when you have 4 other windows open with some no, no videos..

"Those are the main ones," Poteat said. "I've been to Cincinnati, Pitt and Rutgers. I just went to Cincinnati on Saturday. I want to visit the other ones too; it's just a matter of when."
Watching Dick Rods "How to out fox the NCAA" videos, huh?
Talk about a wide range of schools, but I'm pleasantly surprised PSU isn't on that list.
Pitt's the competition.
Trimmed his list to Cincinnati, Pitt, and Rutgers
One of the country's top running back prospects, Jameel Poteat (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt), has narrowed his list of over 40 scholarship offers down to eight schools.
Pitt, Florida, Cincinnati, Iowa, Rutgers, Connecticut, Tennessee and Notre Dame are the schools still in the running for the star tailback's services.
"I narrowed it down and now I'm sleeping on it," Poteat said. "When I feel I've got it I'll pull the trigger [on a commitment]."

Poteat narrows it down to eight; Rawls to visit Cincy - ESPN
A few things here:
1. ND will only take 1-2 RBs this class.
2. Justin Hayes could possibly commit on the 30th. ND looks very good with him (MSU could get him too).
3. We will wait for Huggins, who will most likely announce on NSD (our track record on NSD isn't exactly stellar).
4. Poteat said he wanted to visit ND, but it hasn't happened and there's no mention of it happening. He hasn't mentioned ND much lately, nor have the recruiting sites.
Put all of this together, and I see ND's chances with him as very low...

somehow dont think its usjust posted on FB that he will anounce his school today at 3:30 at the gym at Bishop McDevitt

Here is my take on the RB situation...Poteat is out we did not make his top 3...Huggins is out is to much of a thug and Miami is his first choice (watch out for Miami they are finding their mojo again in recruiting)...I think for the 2011 class it comes down to Hayes only. I think Hayes picks ND on the 30th not only because we are the best fit for him but because MSU now has 2 RB's committed. I see the coaching staff focusing on Defense with the remaining scholarships...we need DE's and CB's!..We can move Springman to OT and hopefuly get Tuitt and Lynch! Yeah Babe!

Thats quite thugly in itself.
And there's nothing wrong with being a thug in football, seemed to work out for the U in the 80's and 90's.
“For him, the reason why these schools are still under consideration, is there is a lot of tradition in academics for what he’s looking for. Some schools weren’t where he felt he would do well at."
Except for the part that it's not true. Or if he is, he does a great job of covering it up. He does VERY WELL in school (not exactly thug-like behavior), he's very well spoken, he chose schools in his top 10 that he felt had a good reputation for academics, esp in his field of interest (and yes, schools like FL have very good academics; it's just that the coaches don't push academics, but I digress), etc etc. Check out this quote from his dad:
So I cannot for the life of me where this comes from, other than a new member pulling it from his arse. In the future, if you call a recruit a thug, bring proof/links/anecdotes, etc. If not, please refrain from doing so or your time here will be short-lived. Thank you.
