Fair enough? They LOVE the guy. Interesting read. Even the comments after the article show massive respect for Floyd. I thought I was reading an article written by a Domer. Gotta love it.

With the way they run their offense I would fear a certain linebacker from hawaii. Just a hunch think this will be his break out game.

Touche, I was just trying to convey the fairness of the article.

I wonder how they would respond if I gave my opinion on any of their players.

This is a nice write up.

While Charlie did have some success here and there, his play calling (to me, anyway) was erratic and always seemed to go away from his strengths unless Notre Dame was playing from behind

ND did seem to be more dangerous playing from behind rather than holding a lead.

Floyd will get some help from Tight End Kyle Rudolph, but other than that Floyd's swinging single out there.

Let them keep thinknig Floyd and Rudolph are alone.

In the spread, they will all get their chance to shine. Look for Floyd, and Rudolph to put up some big gains in one on one coverage. If they zone us, our split sets will expose the gaps. I remember the spread with Caryle Holliday, and I feel this years team has better tools to fully exploit that type of offense. Frankly I'm excited to see how our offense looks this year. Like someone said in another thread, I don't care how well prepared our players are for the NFL at first, I want to see some winning football at Notre Dame!

This was a wonderfully "civilized" article and will, of course, accomplish the exact opposite of its title--Michigan fans will come not to "hate" Michael Floyd but to admire him for his great talents [as one does to any great opponent after trying to beat the pus out him during the game]. It is, actually, very much like the reactions that I've gotten from my [mature] buddies in Michigan whenever ND/UM comes up. There is a huge amount of respect out there among us old-timers for one another's schools and athletic programs [Rich Rodriguez maybe not--either way]. I would bet that if things went as we hope during the season, and if, in some fantasy, Michigan fans would have a vote for AA wide receiver, they would practically unanimously pick Michael Floyd, even if he beat them. But, I can't believe that the UM coaching staff think Floyd is alone as a receiving threat. Fortunately for us, even knowing that we're loaded can't help them--Kelly's schemes will burn them with everyone. We're going to spend a lot a time in the [correct] end zone.

"This year not only is Floyd free of that, but he has a coach who seems to turn unheralded short receivers into Rocket Ishmail just by breathing on them"
I loved this statement and let’s hope it comes to fruition

Why would we not love to hate him, he's a great athlete and probably the best threat you have. But my question to you is, who do you fear the most from Michigan?

Dave Brandon.

Bill Martin wasn't about to fire Rich Rodriguez.

My wife's best friend growing up married a Michigan man, and he and his buddy went on a cross-country trip, and stopped in L.A. for a day. So we offered them to stay at our house instead of a hotel. And no ND fans, the guy isn't psycho or a prick LOL. We talked a lot of college football.

I told him the guy that scares me most is Tate Forcier, b/c he just tore the shit out of us last year in like his 2nd game ever. Now he's a year older, but he probably won't even start! The Mich fan told me that he'd rather see Shoelace back there. And actually, even though Shoelace still doesn't scare me with his arm (despite his improvement shown in the spring game), that dude can friggin' scoot, and he'd be Michigan's most dangerous player if he wins the starting job. Get him just a bit of daylight and he's gone.

With your defensive issues, and the offseason turmoil, and the questions surrounding QB, and the fact that the game is at home, I don't see Michigan winning this one. Sorry. Last year's game scared me much more. But this year, Michigan St on the road scares me much more.

Tenuta blitz to nowhere made a lot of QBs look good - til they played somebody else. Forcier, to his credit, took what we gave him, and we gave him a lot.

A differenent defensive coach and strategy won't have Harrison Smith's head spinning, "No not that guy I'm a Safety this play, I was a LB last play. Oh shit, hope somebody runs him down." Assignments will be better, coverage, pass or run, will be better. Fundamentally this will be a sounder defense. (pun intended). Opponents will have to work to create open space not wait for ND to abandon a spot.

I just hope they don't ride Floyd down the field like last year. UM's DBs got away with murder in that game.

Floyd is someone Michigan should rightfully be afraid of.

But I still believe that Rudolph is the best player ND has at any given position on offense.

Either way, Dayne is going to have some options to throw to.

Denard Robinson. Granted, this is only for his speed and explosiveness rather than any real admiration for his quarterback ability. The kid will be an NFL wide receiver. I also admire Roy Roundtree, but he's not that big or fast, and tight press coverage should keep him contained.

Michigan will double Floyd and Shaq will go crazy on them. Then next year Shaq will be the player to fear.

Is it just me or do I feel an IQ drain every time I read an informed U M article?

Even though Crist got a snap or two last season (1TD/1INT, 130 yards), he's still very inexperienced and is learning a new system. There will be some growing pains here, especially when you're talking about learning a pro-style offense. The other issue is Crist isn't going to have a lot of time to throw the ball. Notre Dame must replace three starters on a perpetually underachieving offensive line.

We have a real news flash! Not only does Notre Dame no longer have one of the most tallented group of recievers in the nation, Michigan has uncovered the truth, good old ND under BK is switching to a pro-style offense! Boy, that will really throw everybody off!

PS. I hear Chris Stewart is turning into a real wrecking machine, (body fat down, weight up, attitude ugly), and he may have some company.

No need to make ugly attitude comments about Stewart just because he's becoming a lawyer.

I understand after the first bogus call by a Big Ten Ref, Stewart intends to slap him with a pile of motions, the first one being a Competency Hearing, and the last one A Cease And Desist Order.
