I used to have a lot of respect for this guy, but every single day he loses some from when he pulls this maybe i'll come back or maybe i won't crap. ESPN running frickin non stop stories about him, it's really sickening. Him and Brad Childress are just acting like a couple media whores.

Any other thoughts or opinions?

I personally blame ESPN. Brett Farve is living his own life and ESPN is sending out Rachel Nichols to camp on his lawn.

I really despise ESPN especially from what has occurred these past few months. It really sickens me that after Denver was eliminated from the playoffs that they basically ignored George Karl and his current situation with cancer. No news updates or anything.

We all know he is going to play so let's do each other a favor and not get sucked into this sicken web of ESPN non sense who is truly to blame. I mean, seriously, what are they going to talk about, BASEBALL!

ESPN, for all their faults, only gives the public what they want. And sadly, we want Favre talk. Yes, we all say we're sick of it, but the numbers don't lie. Sportscenter had their highest numbers of the year by far the past 2-3 years during "Favre watch". They are in the money-making business - what do you expect them to do - not make money? If we would just stop watching, they'd stop showing it.

Just look at the LeBrick hour long debacle. We have all blasted him and the TV 'special' (deservedly), but guess what? We all watched it...and they had HUGE #'s for it. If they hadn't done it, another news organization would have JUMPED to do it in a heartbeat. ESPN did it, so they take the heat, and they also count the $. (Wait, I mean the Boys and Girls Club, the ones he mentioned the same amount of time as his Cleveland teammates - zero - got the money.) Might be unethical to some, but really...ESPN is only giving the people what they want.

For me, this falls squarely on Favre's shoulders. He knows he's coming back, he knows the media will be all over the story, overshadowing his team's summer camp, and he doesn't care. He's a media whore, period. Great player, but a media whore. If he wanted the media to go away, he'd just announce through his website that he was coming back already, but that he's waiting for his ankle to fully heal. The end. Instead, he's going LeBrick's route...milking this for every single penny.

I agree though...I grew tired of his fake retirement act 4 years ago.

Jim Gray proposed the idea to Maverick Carter at a playoff game. He told him to buy a slot of time and Lebron's team took the bait. If anything you can blame Jim Gray, once again another ESPN idiot. And I was not fortunate enough to watch the decision due to a birthday dinner.

Thinking of Stuart Scott makes me want to punch his face in. That gives me a great idea if it has not been done already.

A new thread idea: Which sports host/analyst do you want to punch in the face?

No one is more tired of Favre and his BS. I live in Minneapolis, Brett Central. I was pulling for New Orleans (in spite of Bush) in the playoff game last season. Please don't tell my neighbors – I'm pitchfork and torch intolerant.

I'm a Packer fan and I would take him back a day before the season started.

But Reggie Bush *shudders* it falls under the responsibility of the athlete as well as espn. LeBron easily could have told espn he was just gonna put out a press release or something along those lines, but he didnt. LeBron's ego is very obvious, when you mention one of your goals is being a billionare thats a man with an ego.

Favre also could end a lot of the coverage. His answers just feed into what espn wants. He could easily tell the vikings I don't want to go to training camp. If i don't have to i'll be back. Instanly the thought of Tavaris Jackson pops into there head and they'd say ok. He knows he's coming back he just enjoys the attention.

As far as George Karl goes there is a reason you don't hear a lot about his cancer, because he doesn't want the attention. That's just how George is.

His name should be pronounced "FAV ree" or "Fuh VRAY". The current pronunciation bothers me. All other issues with the guy pale in comparison.

I couldn't help but think about Favre during the Lebron "decision." The difference is that Lebron (even though he messed up in a lot of ways...and screwed Cleveland) took one week to make a choice. Favre leaves his entire franchise and the sports world guessing for several months every year. That's on Favre, not ESPN.

What's worse...after he officially retired, he assured the Packers that he was gone for good. They would have kept him, but he retired. As a franchise, they were forced to move on. For some reason, he now thinks they have wronged him in some way because he flip-flopped.

So, that means I'm mad at Favre for two reasons:
1. He manages to make the entire NFL off-season about him while he screws around in Mississippi (Is he playing catch with the neighbor kid next door?).
2. He made me feel sorry for the Packers.

When you have a QB like Favre you don't ask him if he's thinking about playing next year. You do what you can to keep him a Packer. Apparently the Packers didn't want him to stay. So last year the Vikings win the division and the Packers didn't.
The Vikings wouldn't have gotten to the NFC championship game without him.

He just doesn't want to go to camp. Once camp is over or close to it, he will announce and go back up to Minnesota. He definitely wants another ring.

Like i said before he knows he's coming back and everyone thinks he's coming back, he just seems to enjoy this attention and circus he creates. And we all know that if he went and told the Vikings "I don't wanna go to training camp" they wouldn't say you can't do that. They'd let him do it. Instead he drags it out untill August then announces. This is a big reason the Packers wanted him gone. It was unfair to the Packers and Aaron Rodgers to drag it out like this

If everyone is tired of hearing about then why are we here talking about it. I think that deep down people do want the Farve talk otherwise the media would not pursue it. It is actually in the hands of the viewers because either way it is a great move on the part of Farve as far as marketing is concerned as you have probably seen with many of his crappy Sears commercials.

ESPN is also playing into the hands of Farve as well. It is like a win win situation for them and for most viewers as well since they constantly stay tuned in. I think people don't understand how much money and popularity this guy gains by doing this.

Doesn't ESPN have other things to cover? I hear LeBron needs groceries tomorrow.

Man, you're flip-flopping on this. First, it's EFF ESPN for doing this because no one cares, and now deep down people really do care.

Like I said before, don't blame ESPN, blame the fans. The ratings don't lie...

I was making the point that Farve does not want to say his decision because like ESPN it makes him more marketable.

ESPN drags shit on and on.

Next weeks topic for ESPN: From a well known source of Brett Farve's neighbor's daughter's friends parents in Mississippi reports that he just went out to Taco Bell with Childress with some Wrangler jeans on. Furthermore, we have reason to believe that Farve does not want to go to camp and Childress is begging him to stay. (10 mins of analyzing the situations goes on with Trey Wingo and Tedi Brusci) We have come to the conclusion that Farve is still undecided or he just does not want to come to camp.

Stay tuned next week for further worthless drivel about Farve the is already known. Oh yeah and still not a word about George Karl. (Next, one hour special, who's team is it, Lebron's or Wade's)

My point: Why does ESPN have to insist on reminding everyone every other day that about this topic? They drag shit on and on and on, and then some more.

1. Favre won't announce.
2. They get ratings when they report on it. No ratings...no coverage. It's just that simple.
