Well, he hasn't really played yet, which explains the star rating. Last year he was behind some of the best DB prospects in the country at STA. (STA's entire backfield signed with D1 schools last year.) That rating will go up once the recruiting services see him play during this season.

A bit of a difference in opinion over position and capability. Meanwhile he continues to get offers, UF MIA ND ... Apparently the guys that get paid to coach think he can play.

Only had 18 tackles and 1 pick returned for 49 yds as a backup in '09 playiing behind Lamarcus Joyner and Cody Riggs last year.

A&M leads UF according to Jake Brown, IrishIllustrated.

A&M ???

beneboy wasn't "judging" a recruit. He was commenting on the recruiting services. Scout would have been smarter to issue him No stars if they hadn't evaluated him.

Scout must have gotten wind of Roberson's Gator offer. They've upgraded him from an unranked, 2 Star Safety to a 3 Star, #30 Safety

Roberson’s Rise Continues | soflafootball.com

July 5, 2010 by Luke Stampini

It has been a rather exciting past two weeks for St. Thomas Aquinas defensive back Marcus Roberson. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder received invited to play in the Army All-American Game in San Antonio, Texas January of 2011 as well as the Gridiron Kings 7-on-7 in Orlando later this month. Both events feature some of the nation’s best football players all on the same field competing against each other. ...

That is just the latest in what has been a steady rise in Roberson’s profile on a national level. The fifth defensive back on the Raiders defense a season ago, put together a strong showing during spring practices earning offers from the likes of Texas A&M, Florida, Miami, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, LSU and many more. Roberson attributes his impressive rise to one thing, hard work. ...

Of all the schools to offer Roberson, he claims to be hearing the most from Florida and Texas A&M. The Aggies led for his services for the longest time, until a recent trip to Gainesville put the Gators in the top spot. ...

“Well the people, the coaches, things like that, and seeing the depth chart and seeing the defense with the coaches, everything,” said Roberson on why Florida vaulted to the top.

While it does not look like the Aggies will get a visit this summer, tentative plans are in place to check out College Station for an official visit.

I’m really not going to get out there on my own, because I don’t really have the money for that,” explained Roberson on a possible unofficial visit to Texas A&M. “I don’t know when I’ll take an official visit, hopefully as soon as the season starts or something.”
...

He plans on visiting Miami in July. Based on the money issue expressed, ND has to get one of his Official Visits to be in the game.

Speaking of OVs, how many can ND give? Players only get 5 right?

With that said, any recruit we get away from Meyer, I am happy about!

Player's only get 5. I used to know how many Div 1 schools could offer but have forgotten. 55 comes to mind but I'm not sure. I could't find it looking at about a dozen google articles, they all focused on the recruits max of 5. I forgot my password on the NCAA site so I couldn't log on at the source. Later tonight.

I think you're right around it or are right on the money BGIF, because the number that came to my mind was 54, and I'm 100% it's in the mid 50's.

Just read a scout article on him...he's enamored with FL. He wanted to leave that state, but a trip to FL changed his mind. Still wants to visit place like Georgia and Oklahoma to make sure he covers his bases, but he said FL is his leader, and might commit somewhere (read: FL) before the season starts.

Never mentioned ND in the article.

Another Week Another Leader

Last week NDinL.A. reported Roberson was enamored with the Gators. This weekend he camped at Auburn and according to AuburnSports.com the Tigers offered and vaulted to the top of his list.

He's also picked up offers from UGA and A&M since his profile was last updated.
