Hannah: YES. Lou: NO. Bob: maybe.

OK OK. I think Hannah is great where she is. I kinda like the idea of Theisman.

Collingsworth or Al Michaels and Theisman. With tko, TDHeysus, GoIrish!!! and BestWestern47 as sideline anal ists. Wabash and Shaq as pregame common tators.

Christ....If Thom Brennaman took over, it'd be a 4 hour Tim Tebow info-mmercial.

"If you only knew Tim Tebow for 5 or 20 minutes, you'd come away a better person for it."

That's exactly when we need. :(

"You know, on that poorly thrown wobbly spiral that overshot Michael Floyd by ten yards, that reminded of many quarterbacks that are not as good as Tim Tebow."

"Stuffed up the middle on the draw, like Tim Tebow against Ole Miss."

He'll then highjack the features they always do just before the second half about Irish alumni, students, and faculty making a difference in the world with clips of Timmy circumsizing third world children.

What about bettis? I think he'd be great for the spot. If not then theisman is the best suited

I vote for Chuckie that way he'll be familiar with the players when he takes over as head coach in 16 years.

As a Bears fan I always feel like Tom Thayer does an excellent job and OL really see the game well from A LOT more angles. They can give you more of a well rounded analysis.

My vote is for Tom Thayer.

Morgan Freeman. He has the greatest narration voice of all time. His transition to announcer would be seamless.

I'd like to see Todd Blackledge get a chance at it.

He's not a half bad commentator. He was doing the Cleveland Browns pre-season games for a while and I enjoyed his thoughts even though he's a Nittney Lion. ;)

You know what....I had no freaking clue on that. Never realized. Good stuff.

He lives in North Canton. He graduated from Hoover High School. His dad (Ron) was from Canton, and they moved to North Canton when Ron got an assistant coaching position with the Steelers. Todd only went to Hoover for one year, maybe two.

How about this guy? He seems to have some inside knowledge on ND...

who should replace Haden?

who should replace Haden?

It will be interesting to see who NBC chooses, and I believe that its time to stop pretending that their NUMBER ONE audience is not Notre Dame Fans.

I'm all over either Reggie Brooks, Allen Pinkett or (my favorite) Steve Beurlein.

The atmosphere that ND faces with the rest of the networks that cover college football, is a combative one to put it mildly.

Yes, we have Lou Holtz at ESPN, but he is sorely outnumbered by Corso, Mark May, Fowler, even Herbstreit from time to time gang up on ND and usually report with a negative slant toward the IRISH program, due to the fact that ND still has the NBC contract.

I honestly think it would be awesome if NBC had its own 30 mins pregame show that promoted ND football and would combat some of the things said on gameday about ND and other games and teams.

its time for NBC to put an ND grad in the booth and I think that will improve the broadcast. If ND haters don't like it.... so what !!!

GO IRISH !!!

ps: GIVE THE JOB TO BUERLEIN !!!

I think Theismann would be great. He worked well with whatshiznutz during the playoffs next year, and while he might be a ND'er, I think he'd be very strict on ND. (remember how he did with Quinn on draft day?)

...

They're not pretending. It's by design.

Both ND and NBC did not ND connected announcers. It's been that way since the agreement was to telecast ND games was negotiated.

Maybe with a different ND Administration in place today that might change.

I like your pregame show suggestion. We can hope.

so USC homer Pat Hayden is stepping down to become the AD, who is going to replace him in the booth? Better yet, who do YOU want to replace him?

Who cares, they CAN'T be as bad as Hayden. He sucked as a commentator!!!

BGIF...cool find...I like...

OK I would love to have Irish guys in the booth...Theisman would be awesome because he'd be all over the officials' bull crap....especially replay boneheads. Can you imagine him in the booth on the Grimes Catch (Stanford '07) ...man that would have been fun.

my wish would be Madden and Theisman...but I'd take either paired with anyone.

many of the other Irish Alum on the list would have a tough time as they have kids on the field....thats asking alot. I'd be ok with Rocket or the Bus...

Irish preference aside, a knock out tandem would be Blackledge and Charles Davis...I think both are very skilled, both are consumate professionals that bring player perspectives, and both obviously love what they are doing, and put the time in...and we'd give Charles a respite from the NFL network buffoonery.
