Someone (Yankees org? ND? Army?) must have a bunch of screws loose.....our club received 20 tickets to the game this year in the Bronx. Face value....better sit down for this....$175! ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS!...to see ND play Army. What???? Are you kidding? Does Yankees Stadium really carry that much caché?

Our club ended up throwing another $25 on which goes to the club's scholarship endowment so that brought the ticket price to 200 bones a piece. I don't even know where in the stadium the tix are. I think we're gonna have a tough time getting members to pony up that sorta cash for a game vs Army. Hell, we had tickets on the field at ND stadium a few years back and that was a tough sell at $90.

Dude I'm from LA... when ND played UCLA in the Rose Bowl a few years ago the only way to get tickets for the game was purchase the entire season ticket package for UCLA's season MINUS the Notre Dame game... that would then enter you in a lottery for the CHANCE to win the possibility of buying ND tickets... and those tickets alone were more than the purchase price for the entire season ticket package... unfortunate but that's what they do.

That money grubbing Ba*tard George is no longer with us which means the price may drop. It wouldn't seem as bad if more (don't know what the $ split is) was going into Army's share instead of the Yankees. Either way it'll be a pretty cool venue and I'd planned on going but expecting a little bundle of joy around the same time so I can't chance it.

I doubt it....that's the face value printed on the ticket. Only way they're dropping is if you find a panicked scalper.

Bowl game vs a rebuilding ND/always mediocre Army. Apples and oranges. This one's leaning way heavy on the nostalgia of ND/Army @ Yankees Stadium. Plain and simple. Now, if the teams were the titans they were way back then....ok, I can understand the high dollar ticket a litte more....but not as it relates to the current college football world. If not for the "unique" location of the game, it would be relegated to an "oh by the way" series of highlights on ESPN that night.

I think he was referring to when ND played at UCLA in 2007. I could be wrong though.

Doh! Yeah, yer right....I saw Rose Bowl and glossed right over it :)

I still stand by my point that the folks who set the ticket prices are leaning very heavily on the nostalgia factor.

It's all about supply and demand, and this game is in great demand in New York. They haven't played in the NY Metro area since 2004, and it's been even longer since ND played Army at Yankee Stadium (1969). I'm going to the ND vs Navy at Giants Stadium, and I paid a pretty penny for the ticket. Thousands of alums, and subway alums live in, and around NYC, and this is a big deal for us right now. I sympathize with you as far as the affordability of going, but if you don't pay that amount, someone will. To answer the last poster, I've seen tickets on Stubhub WAY above face value. I don't think these tickets will go down in price, especially knowing the NY market. In fact the tickets will probably go even higher the closer it gets to the game, as demand increases. Regardless of what the records of each team are in late November, this will be a highly sought after ticket, based on tradition. Good luck.

A sales rep for one of our suppliers had 4 tickets for sale for $118 each a couple weeks ago. I'll check if they still are and post the info.

This price on tickets is why Notre Dame isnt too concerned with mediocrity, I'd apply the 'Common Sense Quadrant' to the cost of those babies.

You can still get tickets for this game on Stub Hub for $175 in the upper deck. Best bet is to go game day and scalp them. Tickets will be cheap as hell 1 minute after kickoff.

Yea, "Notre Dame" is so unconcerned with mediocrity that they just ate an 8 figure contract so they could fire a coach for being 6-6 two years in a row. And then, they went out and got the best available coach in the country... sounds like the administration has really turned it's back on the football program.

The thing about common sense: it tends to yield common results.

Try Ebay, or Craig's List, but use South Bend's zip code, I live here so I don't know if south bend is cheaper, but worth a try. Use zip code 46617
