all i'm saying, if they are going to stop the brock vs. mir fight for a couple of rabbit punches to the face, they should have stopped carwin vs. brock for carwins bombs.

No question Lesner was rocked by Carwin...but not out...similar to Leban fight.. Leben was on ice standing up throwing punches against Ackyahma(SP).

You really think Mir was defending himself in that fight? He WAS actually OUT. Not covering at all.. the official let get pounded and Mir was out cold...Not EVEN close to the same situation. Lesner was in guard.. both arms covering face and body. Mir was on side/stomach with side/arm pinned against cage and being held down by Lesner and couldn't protect himself.. HENCE his face after the fight.. dude was out cold. No comparison.

lesnar got rocked and was helpless, he even said himself in a post fight interview that he thought it was gonna be stopped and at one point he didn't know where he was.

You cant tell me with a straight face that dana white didnt tell the ref to give lesnar every chance possible to stay in the fight.

yeah he won, but it didnt impress me, carwin impressed me more in the loss. you can't claim your the baddest sob on the planet and get rocked like that in the first round. Carwin will get his chance again.

Brock did not say that, he said he hoped it wouldnt be stopped but he wanted to stay active and let Carwin punch himself out because his punches had less power as the match contiued. The Ref said to both Carwin and Brock that if the guys stayed active, he would not stop the fight.

He got rocked then went into gaurd. He pushed Carwin off twice and was active underneath. He was taking alot of shots which is why i thought it would be stopped but he did not look like he was out.

Carwin won the 1st round but just the same Brock owned the 2nd. Carwin had no defense from the ground and Brock made him tap. A triangle is not a cop out, Did Leben take the easy way out for making Akiyama tap?

I like the shit out of Carwin, especially after the Brock fight. There's no one but Brock that can beat him. But, as aforementioned, Brock still isn't his old self yet. His prime is yet to be seen.

Here's my predictions: Brock will fight Velasquez in November and rematch Carwin in February to March-ish for the title after Carwin powns De Los Santos, which should be a SLUGFEST!!!

Brock will take him down, again, and submit him, again... Thats the intelligent thing to do with a man that swings anvils.

Some of you obviously have not been following the UFC for very long. In a TITLE fight, there is absolutely no way that a ref is going to stop a match unless the person is unconscious or tapping out. You give both fighters the benefit of the doubt. Brock was obviously dazed and hurt, but he was not unconscious. He was moving enough to show that he was "defending" himself. Carwin didn't protest about it. He knows you have to finish the person in this type of fight.

We've seen this scenario play out many times. Guys gas out by going for a choke too long or punching themselves out after they have their opponent dazed. Joe Stevensen, Cro Cop, Liddell, BJ Penn have all burnt too much energy in the first round and got beat up after. Carwin could barely breathe after the first round. He looked dead. It was only a matter of time before Brock overpowered him.

i always think a submission is a cop out, i hate submissions especially in the heavyweight division, we're there to see knockouts and brock got knocked out, but somehow still is the champ?? hmmmm bogus!

That would be boxing, it's called Mixed Martial Arts for a reason. Knockouts are awesome for sure, but that's not what the sport should be about. Brock was badly stunned, though not out cold and was able to move and defend enough to continue. Brock was submitted by Mir due to a simple mistake, he's learned and expanded his arsenal of attack. We'll see if Carwin does now.

I'm sorry, but you are never going to get me to believe that UFC fights are fixed. I have been following the sport since Hoyce Gracie and the type of injuries inflicted during these fights just make it too dangerous and sudden to allow it. Doesn't anybody remember that guy Krocow? He was supposed to be the next big thing with his awesome leg kicks and they promoted this guy big time. He promptly went out and was destroyed by EVERYBODY. After all that Dana White and the UFC invested in him, why weren't the fights fixed in his favor. The answer is simple...the fights aren't fixed!

Every sporting event is officiated by human beings and all humans can make mistakes. I put this fight down as a "questionable call", not a fixed fight. We have all seen the judges decisions in a boxing match that were clearly a "fixed fight".

I agree that Lesner was intelligently defending himself(not successfully, but intelligently) and in the Mir/Lesner fight, Mir was out. I think that a debatable officiating decision is a far cry from a fixed fight.

The great thing about this fight is we all know that they are going to have to face each other again!

I am actually a fan of GSP because that is what he does he is a tactician. He doesnt rely on just submits tho. he actually has more TKOs than submits.

I am just not a fan of submissions, i would really even like them to be limited to 1 minute on the ground and then they should be stood back up to fight.

its just the way i would like to see it.
