Trust me, he would not have made it academically at Notre Dame. He is about as intelligent as his name sounds. This isn't a huge loss.

Also, I'm from the area and played him in high school. He's got a very cocky, POS attitude, argues with coaches and draws a good number of personal fouls. He has success because he plays behind a BIG line against 4a Kansas competition.

Yea I read alot of comments on other boards that when he went against Kansas best he wasn't impressive at all. Atleast we got Hendrix who has played against the best Ohio had to offer..

TRUST me, the only program this hurts is baseball. The kid is a headcase. Gardner-Edgerton is a hick-ass school that treats their athletes like gods. They try pathetically hard to be like the texas school in Friday Night Lights and make their athletes feel like the kings of the world. They played 2 games against meaningful competition. A 28-26 win over St. Thomas Aquinas (my alma mater and the same school linebacker Brian Smith went to) and the state championship, where they got drubbed 52-14 by hutchinson.

Oh WTF. Burton made my day yesterday and then Bubba Shrimp has to go and do this today. We do have Hendrix / Massa / Rees. I'm not worried about the QB spot, but that skillset is something I would have liked on the roster.

Uhhh.....you forgot to mention that they played Aquinas twice. They played them in the playoffs where it matters and they beat Aquinas 49-7. LoL how come you left that out? The kid is good, I wish him well in whatever he chooses to do.

I was at that game. They beat the first team 21-7. After the game was clearly out of reach, all the seniors were put in and the scored a few more quick ones. It's common knowledge that Diener is a douche bag who will run the score up and throw 50 yard bombs on JV backups.

Obviously Starling has gotten them flustered enough to make an appearance on the board. Hahah

Look all I'm saying is that it's not a huge loss. Kansas football isn't near the quality of Ohio football, we'll be completely fine with Hendrix

I'm concurring my man. I'm not too bent out of shape about it. I spent the whole day on the golf course praising Kelly and landing Burton and then I came home to this announcement. Just saying I didn't see it coming. BAM! The old fork in the eye.

I felt that yesterday was unexpectedly good and today was unexpectedly bad in regards to recruiting.

You aren't paranoid my friend. You are simply quite aware that everyone, including the government, is out to get you. We know who you are and where you live.

You like pink yogurt. With bananas.

The Matrix Re-Envied

So, you're the Oracle. I thought you knew what I was going to say, or wait. Did I say it?

Let me try to keep this relevant:

BUCK FUBBA!

Before the Aquinas-Gardner game this year, there was one of those jibjab dancing with santa things with bubbas face on it going around. I'll try and find it, it was hilarious.

I hope Anthony Barr's GF and the entire sport of baseball are happy. I couldn't give a **** about either but it looks like they were the deciding factors in 2 talented recruits not going to ND.

It's possible...just a little bit possible, that the kid thought Nebraska was a better fit.

How many times do we have to lose out on a player before we can blame it on "The Starling Curse"

I'm not that dismayed about this news because his father said in one of the plethora of articles I have read on Bubba, that baseball is his first love. Now to me, that means it is his favorite sport. If I was skilled enough to be a Division 1 talent in so many sports, I would make the commitment to my favorite sport, which in Bubba's case would be baseball. This leads me to believe that he is going to turn pro in baseball when he is drafted, or stay for a year or two in college, where he won't really realize his football potential. I think this is a positive result, as we won't be burned by him in the future when he says he is done with football. I think we will look back on this, maybe in a year, maybe a few more, and be thankful Bubba didn't commit to us. We will lament over "what could have been", but we will rejoice that we weren't the football team Bubba chose.
