I really love Chucky, what did every one think? He kind of blasted him for the Tarheel disaster...

After the Gruden piece Numbnuts McShay quipped that Jimmy doesn't deserve to go 1st round, Kiper said the Raiders will probably take him.

Does McShay have a personal hatred for Jimmy? It doesn't make sense why he leaves Jimmy off his mocks, when Jimmy is going to be a first round pick.

Gruden was much worse on Colt McCoy. He made fun of his accent. Jimmy is going to be the man. As a Bronco fan, we got Brady this year and I'm think he can start, but I'd be utterlly thrilled with Jimmy.

Gruden's QB Camp: Jimmy Clausen - ESPN Video - ESPN

That's the link for Jimmy's specifically.

It'll actually be on at 7PM Eastern Time.

I really enjoy the four interviews (Clausen, Bradford, McCoy and Tebow), and it should be a good watch.

Been a fan of Gruden since his Raider days, he makes me wish I would have been.....oh....1000% better of an athlete. I'd run through a wall for him.

Sure hope Grandpappy Davis shows a flash of sanity and Oakland picks up JC, I'd be a real happy guy.

I have this eeeerie feeling JC is going to drop as well. I see the same happening to him as did with Brady Q. It's not that JC is not a good NFL fit, I just think it is going to rely on what team neads a QB and wants to spend their pick on Jimmy. I hate feeling this way also but, I don't know.

Thats exactly it. I think his talent is unquestioned, I wish he could have had one more year in Weis' system. But he needs a team like New England, or Minnesota to draft him so he can sit out a year and watch how to do it. Frankly most teams have other dominating needs, which is why he just might drop out of the first round.

If he falls into the late first round the redskins have talked about trading back into the first to get him. My buddy I grew up with works at the front office for the skins and said that Kyle shannahan really likes him and if he thinks we can get him without going up the farm then we will make moves for the future. He would be able to sit the bench for two years and learn while backin up mcnabb. Mcnabb hasn't a full 16 game season in a while too. I would love to see that happen.

I read on one of the websites that MANY of the GM's in the league think McShay and many of the other self imposed 'Draft Experts' are just dopes........the one guy that most of the GM's seemed to respect was Mayock, one b/c he did play the game and two b/c of the amount of tape he reviews........they say his analysis is very accurate.

So....Mayock like JC.........that is good enough for me......F-McShay, he should stick to baking cookies in trees.

just a little tough love baby! i think hes right about that play. i think gruden is a jimmy fan.

You had to have known that Gruden wasnt going to put on a ball-washing 'QB camp'. He was going to tell those QB's things that other ppl wont. the unpopular things, that would piss some ppl off.

Gruden was much worse on Colt McCoy. He made fun of his accent....

I saw it as constructive criticism, and although Colt looked to be surprised by it, I thought Colt McCoy heard what he said. I thought Colt McCoy had the best session with Gruden, I have a bigger appreciation for McCoy then I did before I watched the clip. (dont get me wrong, he is still the #3 qb in the draft)

His answer about earning the respect of his senior lineman (while he was a freshman) was a home-run answer, awesome.

.....I saw this and was wondering why it was necessary to show Clausen's UNC performance?

The UNC play was pre-syracuse '09. that was the old Jimmy Clausen. I didnt see Gruden pick apart anything Clausen did post-syracuse '09. Going back a year and half to find something to pick a part is pretty damn good. In the clip Gruden eludes to JC that he is 'light years' ahead in the X's and O's game. Thats a direct comment about his 'pro style' experience.

MY reaction to each: (just my opinions, nothing else)

Tebow - He talked to Tebow like he was a HS freshman QB trying to make varisty.
McCoy - He talked to McCoy as if Colt is on schedule, and needs to continue his progress.
Bradford - He talked to Bradford like is was a rookie starting QB in the NFL
Clausen - He talked to Clausen like he was a 3-year starter in the NFL. (respecting coaches, respecting the game, coaching policy, being accountable for ALL things that happen on the field, even the stuff that isnt his fault)

I think you could tell that Gruden liked Bradford the best, he didn't really have to say too many bad things about him like the other guys.

None of this, absolutely none of this stuff matters, Jim Clausen will be a good pro.

I loved how Jimmy was sitting there taking notes too, awesome stuff.

I saw that too. He started writing when Gruden said, "You have to elevate your expectations..."

I thought that was a powerful statement; I thought Gruden was planting the seeds of NFL-level leadership with JC.

example:
If JC comes in with all his talents, his coaching, and ND background, ND records, with the attitude that its still not good enough (...elevated expectations..) other teammates around him will see that, and they will raise their expectations too. Thats being a leader

that bleeds into your expectation in your teammates, which pushes that dynamic as well...all of that results in a better overall team performance, stemmed from good leadership.

espn, cowherd, mcshay are all really irrelevant guys. Gruden is a different story and my impression was he was being tough to toughen. Clausen will be a good pro, Gruden likes his toughness and that is what will attract his team to him. You need a little arrogance to play the position plus an arm like Clausen . He will be fine and in my opinion upper tier when its all said and done. If Gruden didnt like him he wouldnt smack him around like he did, that is part of the process Jim Clausen will have to handle. It may take him awile to get used to the pro game but that arm will prevail if he handles the emotional maturity needed to be a pro.
