They are always a solid team but they dont dominate with ease. They are for sure a top 5 team in MO every year. Im pretty sure Rockhurst only made it to the quarters this past season. I actually went to school in STL and so I will be the first to say, im proud to let it be known that KC schools are not golden.
As for the athletes these schools put out...SOLID. The big playmakers on Rockhurst every year typically transition to the D1 level as good players. Id be stoked if he signed with ND because the athletes at Rockhurst are outstanding young men with great potential year in and year out.
For the last two years, Sports Illustrated has chosed Rockhurst H.S. as the fifth best athletic program in the nation. Link for last year -

From 2000-07, six of the eight Mo high school football championships were won by KC schools - either Rockhurst or a Blue Springs school. The Rockhurst-Blue Springs quarterfinal would usually determine one of the state finalists, usually the champion. Hazelwood (St.L) has won the last two, with Blue Springs second this year (winner over Rockhurst in a very tight contest, though Rockhurst dominated their regular season game).
Tom Freeman (ND OL '86) went to Rockhurst, as did his son, currently on the Irish football team. Tony Temple (Missouri, '08) was a star back at Rockhurst.
Despite the fact that Rockhurst is located on the State Line with Kansas a stone's throw away and that it draws students from both states (or maybe because of it), the Border War is quite alive.
Dan would be a great addition to this class and to the Rockhurst-ND tradition.
