Schwenke and Ego would definately right our Leuders loss. Not to mention the possible sleeper in Heggie.

For now, this one seems to be ours to lose. I dont see that happening. Leuders seemed to sour after kelly and staff started hard after Ego, which might be a great sign about how much they want him. That is just my opinion, but i think we are sitting in shape to have a great DE class come NSD. Not to mention the great one we already have in Utopo.

That depends on whether Utupo stays at his current size, or gains the weight that many services project he will and become a tackle. Either way, he is a great recruit to have.

Now Schwenke is one who definitely needs to gain weight and quickly, but if we do add him to the commitment list, it is an absolutely wonderful way to ease the loss of Leuders.

I am excited about this kid. He seems to have the kind of raw speed as a pass rusher that we have not had for a while.

How does that work with NSD tomorrow? I didn't realize it was possible to declare after NSD.

BGIF probably knows the rules better than me, but NSD is the first day a high school kid can sign their letter of intent, but the process does not have to end on NSD. I'm not sure of the exact time table, but I don't think Pryor signed until mid March.

I thought for football is was April 1; but other fall sports which start tomorrow - like Water Polo - go to August 1.
I could be wrong though.

I'm sure Kona will get the list of promises from Sark. Hopefully his time at ND and conversations with Manti and Roby will pay off.

Tomorrow is the first possible day that a recruit may sign his LOI. He can take his time to sign any LOI after NSD.

Huge get at a position of need. Love this guy and his upside considering his frame.

At 6'5" 215 lbs, in a 3-4 defense, could this kid move to OLB? Not that I want them moving anyone off the d-line b/c god knows they need help there, but to keep him on the field in all situations he could kind of hybrid and play a lot of OLB, but then put his hand on the ground for 3rd & long...

Or he could just beef up and become a more traditional 3-4 end.

Great decision, welcome to ND!

Now celebrate with a big luau tonight and eat the whole pig. We have a much bigger need for you at DE than OLB.

According to his interview with ISD, they're considering him for either DE or a rush specialist fromt he OLB position. It will depend on how he looks when he shows up for camp.

Yeah, no matter where they play him, he'll only be a true freshman next year. And at 6'5", its not like it would be unheard of for him to put on say 20-30 lbs over the next couple of years, and then he'd just be a somewhat small-ish true junior 3-4 DE. While the defense certainly needs help now, if they see this kid in camp and think he's really meant to play DE, even in a 3-4, and they decide to red shirt him to that end if they feel they can't really get the most out of him by playing him right away, that'd be fine with me.

Tall kid, plays with mean streak, if Kelly "coaches them up", Schwenke and Utupo are the perfect candidates

This was awesome, to get a 4 star like this with such little notice, what a great surprise, excited for the next 4 years with him and UTUPO
