I HOPE it is Crist. Anyone know how he's knee is? But I agree, I think it will be Floyd.

I think he'll have a hard time being better than Manti, but I'm going to throw out a curve ball and say Darius Fleming. I thought he was the ideal 3-4 OLB coming out of high school because he was an undersized DE. Second on team in sacks last year (with 3 lol).

** Wishful thinking, I know, probably better suited for most improved or surprise player... Can't go wrong with picking Floyd or Manti though

Floyd will have a big year, but Manti will be the best player that is the biggest difference maker for the Irish.

When you say "best", I'm thinking of the 1 player on the field that makes the difference between a win and a loss every week. 4-5 people come to mind; Michael Floyd, Kyle Rudolph, Dayne Crist, Armando Allen (and Brian Smith as the defensive game changer to be most improved).

If I had to pick one, I might actually go out on a limb and pick Kyle Rudolph. He's a safe bet in Brian Kelly's offense to be extremely productive. With the QB situation a little shaky, I think Kyle shows the most glaring production. However, I see all the players I mentioned, having a much improved or great season in 2010.

If not Floyd or Teo, I guess Ill go out on a limb and say Bruce Heggie.

* I like the comment above about Rudolph- thats why I edited.

I hope it will be either Cierre Wood or Jonas Gray on offense, but Allen is the best bet. If Crist plays well early than Flloyd should be the guy.

I think it will be Manti on defense, but I am hoping that either Fleming or Filer make the quantum leap.

I'm thinking that Even Sharpley could really have a come out year this time. I don't know if he'll be the best player but I think he'll be really good (HOPE!!!) :) .

Best player Defo be Michael.

Kyle Rudolph will be the most consistent player on Notre Dame next year. I thought he was under-utilized this year, and I look forward to seeing him breaking through tackles over the middle. Kid's a flat out beast with hands.

I know we have a ton of talent so I think whoever works the hardest this off season will show up big time.

On offense I am going with Floyd
On defense I am going with Manti and Ethan Johnson

Shaq Evans.

2,500 all-purpose yards with at least 20 total TDs. Heisman trophy, Paul Hornung Award, first team All-American.

The first of his three Heisman trophies.

I actually think Shaq will flourish in Kelly's spread offense...

However, I hope Crist is the best considering well, he's the leader of the offense.

And Teo will lead the defense.

I like the Rudolph pick, but I am going to have to say Goodman on offense.

Teo on defense.

Wait, Goodman as a WR or QB?.... Because I doubt he'll play QB and WRs are loaded. I would be shocked if he has better numbers than Kamara and Floyd, and possibly Shaq Evans..

Don't get me wrong, I love Goody (I live just outside of Ft. Wayne)... But he's more of a third option guy. He'll be a big contributor, but nowhere near the best player of the entire offense.

I think Fleming will be the most surprising player, but the best defensive player will be Te'O offensively its easy going with Floyd.

Reps!

IF he's Irish and IF hes' the best on the team it would have meant and outstanding year for the team.

Based on who's on the team now. Last year I think I picked Rudolph. Didn't work out that way.

Our DLine is growing up as is the LB corps behind them. The added year of experience and strength and conditioning should show results this year. I have some concerns about the 3-4 and our current personnel but I'm picking Ethan Johnson. Last year he bulked up and I thought he looked a tad chubby. With 6 months of Longo I expect to see a quicker, stronger Johnson doing some serious damage.

Mike Floyd. He is the total package. It doesn't matter if he plays 3 games or 12 games. He is the best player wearing a golden dome.
