Why would you write him off?... He might be an OSU lean, but doesn't mean you can't try still.

I think that was his point.

I do like how much tenacity Kelly is showing...seems that was why Charlie was more successful than his predecessors.

This comes after an in-home visit from Denbrock.

Fight the good fight, BK!

bgif, do we write off matt james, tooo? he is leaning to osu, also.

Guys, HE WAS BEING SARCASTIC. There are fans who have already written off guys like Henderson, so BGIF made a joke. I guess he should put a huge JUST KIDDING sign at the bottom of his post.

NDinL.A., I was being facetious. It has a much nicer ring to it than sarcastic.

Thank you Merlin, Jeremy, and NDinL.A. Good to see some people read what's actually written, be it in my post or in those made by others.

For the objectors to my post, sigh, what part of "wasting", NOTE THE QUOTATION MARKS, and what part of "... recruit the fans have already written off" were too subtle?

This thread has been gloom and doom and throw in the towel for the past 4 or 5 days despite the report that Kelly is making an in-home on the 18th!

I raised the question about Henderson's academic credentials 6 months ago because there was a dearth of information. From over 15 years of reporting recruiting on internet sites I've learned that's not a good sign. A 16, if true, IS a problem. Kelly, HOWEVER, must see a possibility or why visit? The ND coach doesn't admit players, ND Admissions decides who gets to be a student. Has he taken a retest? Is he scheduled for a retest? Is ND Admissions comfortable enough with his core course work that they will grant admission with a qualifying test score? Kelly may be going to close on Monday or he may be going to keep the communications line open should this require another semester to complete.

Sarcasm. The only language the internet doesn't understand.

Lol you guys are all crazy. I love the weeks leading up to NSD, pretty much got a boner the whole time just thinking of all the possabilities.

Right now, we have a good class, and we are in position to land another great class. No worries on my end. We have good coaches, we have good recruits, we are in it with the alot of top names still out there. Should be a fun ride.

Kelly is going on the visit b/c we are still in the race, otherwise he wouldnt bother. Henderson and James would fill out this OL cycle very well.

All that being said, there is a great need for sarcasm font, especially for people who hardly understand it in the first place.

Yes, we have a chance until he or ND say no. How good a chance I have no idea.

Henderson wouldn't have set up a in-home visit with Kelly if he had ruled ND out. Likewise Kelly wouldn't have made an in-home visit if ND Admissions had ruled Henderson out.

Things should become clearer after reports on that in-home visit. So far Kelly seems to be getting rave reports on his personal contacts with recruits.

IMO, Seantrel is almost in the same category as Manti, where there are no indications to what school he is leaning towards, just speculation. The big difference between the two is the admissions factor. Can Seantrel get accepted? I'm not sure, but if he can, we got a shot.

I don't think we have much of a chance because all of the positive comments are coming out of Seantrel's dad and not Seantrel. I think his dad would pick us firts which obviously can't hurt the situation but I"m not so sure about the kid himself.
Agree, the family seems to be real quality people but the ACT/sons desire to attend Notre Dame dont seem to be there. I let this one go a few weeks ago but hope is a good thing. He'll be an asset to any team as it sounds like he was raised well. Sounds to me like Tressel, plus they arent as rigid academically. Buckeyes get a lot of guys that way -football first but Tressel gives them a class front. And I do mean 'front'. He'll be there to play football and do what he can on getting an education. Just hope he doesnt end up at Fla/southern cal, that would be below family standards as I see it. Come to think about it this could have been said about all the quality guys Notre Dame recruits. Its a reoccuring theme.

Could we cut the crap on this player bio and let someone post something (anything really) on how the visit went here.

A week built with excitement over Iowa Coach Kirk Ferentz visiting the Class of 2010's top prospect turned to disappointment on Wednesday. Hawkeye Insider learned from Seantrel Henderson's father, Sean, that the Hawkeyes decided to decline in-home meetings with the family.

Technically 25 in a class, but with this years EEs (5 kids go against last years class) we can take more. I'm not sure how many schollies we have to give though.

Correct, the number is 26 if Bobby Burger returns for a 5th year (some academic questions, people weren't sure if he could or couldn't with his transfer into ND), if not 27.
