Obviously not afraid of a spread offense, seeing that he is a Tech commit.

Nice arm, quick release, good field vision....

Plus he has already run the spread.

I love Hendrix... but I don't mind if we lose him and pick up a TEXAS quarterback.

Hence the word, Texas.

That's what I was thinking. It would be really nice if we could find a way to get some talent(even if it's only 1 player a year)from Texas.

Hmm, this is the right approach to take though by BK and his staff. If Hendrix is going to look around, so are we, and what an option Young is. He seems better fit for this offense, but we will see how things go.

I wonder if Scroggins is on BK's radar now that Petey is gone.

Scroggins never really considered U$C. I'm assuming he'd stay on the West Coast if he reopened his recruitment.

??? Scroggins is committed to USC. Did you mean he never considered ND? That is true if that is what you meant...

See... this is the importance of proof reading, ya know?

What I meant to say, before shooting myself in the foot with a freaking sawed-off shotgun ifor the last post in this thread, was that he never considered ND. If he decommits from U$C, I think he's going to stay on the West Coast.

So there!

Thanks L.A. for catching that.

Warning: Good news for Irish recruiting... :)

Tuberville signed Neal Brown from Troy as his OC at Tech, which means Young will have a new offense as well. It's safe to assume that his QB coach will most likely not be the same either - although that is hard to know for sure.

The kid plays at Denton Ryan in the Dallas area one if the top programs in the state. He was rightly glorified every saturday in the Dallas paper after each game during the season.

Screw it. I want him, especially with Hendrix looking at the shit swamp.

Kids put up amazing numbers at a big time school with big time competition. Runs the same O. Go get him kelly.

Quick question, has he actually been offered?

Didn't Tuberville say that he is going to maintain the same offense?

Even if it is still a spread, each coordinator brings plenty of his own twists to the system. Plus, I am sure the former OC was involved in the recruiting of Scotty, so that will hurt TT big time as well.

Is this thread dead now that Hendrix is back? Personally, when I saw this kid was on our radar, I was fine with Hendrix taking his visit. He does seem better fit for us, but now he seems like a dead door because we have two QBs now and one is already on campus.

saw some footage, and came away very impressed. seems like he hit all his receivers in stride. still think it would be a nice fit.

63.2 completion pecent, 8,962 yards, 129 touchdowns and only 24 interceptions. Those are this kid's stats for his junior and senior year combined. Holy crap! Can we take three QBs please?

According to S.I.

In his first interview since Texas Tech changed coaches, Denton Ryan quarterback Scotty Young said he is unsure if he will honor his commitment to play for the Red Raiders. Young said his decision will depend largely on a conversation with new coach Tommy Tuberville next week. The 6-3, 190-pound Young said Arizona State and Notre Dame are still on his radar, but he hopes things can work out with the Raiders since they run a spread offense similar to what Young ran in high school.

I have been a huge fan of the Denton Ryan program for the last 7 years. They have turned out some really good players and have only gotten better QB prospects since Coach Florence took over. If you look at Texas high school football Ryan is right up there with the states powerhouses. Young is the most polished QB to come thru the program.
