Collinsworth was supposedly recruited as a WR...seems like an odd offer, especially if we're still in the game for Prater.

RUMOR that Prater AND Cooper are going to be on campus this weekend for a visit.... any truth to that ??

Not sure about Prater yet (but it doesn't look good), but Cooper is definitely not on campus and won't be this weekend. For some reason, he wasn't able to make it. As for Prater, he told ISD recently that he was solid to SC. I wouldn't hold my breath...

Don't forget we'll be in the spread now, so there will be 4 receivers out there most the time, and so having 8 stud receivers on the roster is best with injuries, fatigue, etc. Also, I have faith that Kelly will develop them to the best position. I can see some of these guys transitioning to DB ore even LB and TE if they bulk up.

Per IrishIllustrated on Prater and his future, "I'm committed 100%". The way I read this is that he is attending USC and I think we can close the book on him, but things could still change, it's over a month away til NSD.

Just wanted to echo what NDinLA had already said for clarification.

Hopefully snow kept Cooper away and that's all... It was slick Saturday... Had a friend come up from Indy for the UCLA game and he arrived 30 minutes late (luckily we planned to meet at 12:30 for a 5 Guys Burger (Legends was too crowded)).

Rivals has an article up with some USC recruits reactions to the Carroll news, if anybody can read it. The little clip on Prater's page:

"Earlier this week at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl five-star wide receiver Kyle Prater said that his in-home visit with head coach Pete Carroll was a big reason why his commitment was solid going into Signing Day. On Friday evening, Prater wasn't interested in talking about it."

There are posters on wearesc.com who are claiming that he is very unhappy about it. Saying that a Rivals guy at the AA game heard about it. Some are even going so far as to say that he decommitted, and that his top 4 is Bama (just shoot me now), OK, ND and IL. Of course, these are anonymous posters so I doubt it has gone that far already, but something definitely is up...

Can he play Left Tackle? Do we really need another WR.....isn't there already 25 scholarship WR's at this point.........give me Seantrel and James over Prater.

With the status of pro football in the air for 2011, you might not see as many people leaving school early since there might not be pro football in 2011. In fact, most people who cover the NFL for a living say that all signs are pointing that way.

However, as far as Kyle Prater goes and for that matter all of the potential commits, I say bring it on. You can never have enough talent on your roster.

True good point. I forgot all about the possible lockout

For those of you old enough to remeber Underdog...

Prater, should he choose to decommit form SC, cannot be an EE to ND. It's too late for that, the paperwork cannot be completed on time. Classes begin in a couple of days. That doesn't mean he won't be Irish, but I'm just saying he won't be an EE. Also, the FL boards and the OK boards are buzzing that he might go there. If he goes to FL, I might just go postal LOL...

EDIT: From an SC board, some dude posted premium info (and got blasted for it). This is what he said the SC recruiting guys are saying:
Prater just wants to talk to any coach. Can't reach them because they won't answer their phones.

Doesn't Prater plan to early enroll to SC, talk about all was fine just a week ago. If he reopens his recruitment I think ND has a great shot.

I thought he looked the part. Almost made a spectacular TD grab, held on but the DB covering him didnt let him control it to the ground. Kelly will be on this guy, no doubt in my mind.
