Jim Zorn is a Offensive guy but nice try.

Iowa's DC would be great, his kids are clearly well coached, would be nice to see what he can do with better talent

Are we sure that we have "better talent" on D than Iowa? I don't think we do at this point.

"At This point" is irrelevant. The premise is that Iowa's players have been well coached and developed. I would say the players on Notre Dame's roster for the most part were held in higher regard as recruits than the players on Iowa's roster. So yes...it would be interesting to see what he could do if he worked at a school that could recruit on a national level.

Going off recent history, I'd say Iowa has better talent on defense than ND. And has for a while. Offense is a completely different story. If it weren't for jacory harris, stanzi would be the worst QB in the country

Maybe ... their RKGs are better than our RKGs.

Iowa's Defensive Cooridinator Norm Parker is old though. He has to be in his 60s so I dont't see him leaving or if we do get him he won't be around very long.

What's the name of the D-coordinator from North Carolina? I can't remember, but he has turned that group into an elite defense over the last three years and I would love to see his name come up.

Rick Kaczenski is not the D Coordinator just the DLine Coach. He did graduate from ND, if he was offered the job as DC I'm sure he would come without a doubt, but I doubt old Norm Parker would leave. So you either mean the DC Norm Parker or the DLine Coach Rick Kaczenski.....What is it?

I think we all agree that coaching has been the problem on the defensive side of the ball, but the last time I checked, 4 and 5 star players should be able to "tackle and swarm to the ball" if they are truly superior players. Let's face it, some of these kids read the press clippings and believe they are better than they are. This isn't the case just at ND, but at every school.

I am sure that I will probably get killed for this, but outside of Teo, how many other sure fire defensive players do we have that are going to play on Sunday? McCarthy?

I just think that we have spent 5+ years recruiting a great offense and taking whoever would be willing to come here on defense. Teo was a great get by Weis. I just hope that we can deliver more like him soon.

Again....no one is saying that ND has "truly superior players". The point is that Iowa's coaching staff is DEVELOPING the young talent they have into better players-something that our coaching staff isn't.

Development is the key word re: ND defensive woes. We never had the coaching staff that knew or appreciated the success which player development engenders..including CW. I'm very optimistic relative to defensive development under Coach Kelly and staff.
