Per ISD, Spencer Boyd, Lo Wood, Christian Jones and Louis Nix on Monday.

On Tuesday going to see Tai-ler Jones and then he's going to North Carolina to see Prince Shembo and Kendall Moore.

Coming back this coming weekend to see Giovanni Bernard, who is in Oregon on a family trip.

lets see how good of a salesman he is. there are a number of recruits to save. i have to wonder if he will be bringing any recruits over from when he recruited them at cinci.

i just hope he doesnt get a hardon because he is sitting in a bunch of 4 star players homes. he probably isnt very used to it and i hope he doesnt get complacent in recruiting thinking oh wow this is easy i used to have to work so hard just to talk to a 4 star kid.

I'm kinda thinking that a coach that has worked his way up to the most prestigious job in all of college football and that has led a team through an undefeated season is not going to get over-excited about 17 and 18 year old kids.

That said, BK has some work to do. There are a lot of reports about all the recruits having second thoughts about ND, time for more stories like Lewis and Taylor that are starting to think ND!

Go Irish!

I'm going to make a bold statement: if ND CAN offer Lewis, he is Irish. If his grades are good enough for the administrations likings, by all means offer him.

Some good news to finally quell the mini meltdown that has taken place on this board. With the staff in place it's a chance to make a great impression and close the show in style. Still in play for several big names and maybe some unknowns??? Gonna be exciting!!! GO GET EM BK!!!

It's not like these kids wear their stars on their chests like some boyscout sporting his merit badges. These kids are unproven recruits and have not proven a damn thing in college. 2 stars, 3, 4, 5. I truly don't think that BK will get a "hard on", will be in awe, nor will he crack under the pressure of sitting in their living room having a conversation. I think 12 wins and 0 losses may get him a bit hard, but a conversation with a 4 star.....not so much.

If someone could give a basic summary of the ISD article entitled, "Kelly's First Day on the Road a Success," that would be awesome. Thanks in advance!

wasnt meant to be a negative post, i am actually looking forward to see what he can do. and am very interested in the guys with new interest.

we wont know what kind of a recruiter he is for 3 years so i am not going to be disappointed even if he loses a number of guys who had already given verbals. i just hope he can save them... i am very very enthused about everything going on at this point.

its got to be a different conversation with someone lowly rated who wants someone to recognize him and have a guy who is always in the news coming to the house vs. a guy who has gotten 5000 letters from every school and had urban meyer and pete carroll in with lipstick on. but thats not what i was really saying anyway.

my issue is with complacency, i hope and pray it doesnt happen but i thought it was something that could happen to a guy coming into this position.... i wonder if that is what happened to guys in the past like willingham.

i wasnt trying to be shitty just wanted to make a post :)

Yea it's about spencer boyd, nix and lo wood

Nix- Nix said they had a fantastic time chatting and hes a really sharp guy. Nix said hes going to be a great coach and cant wait to play for him. He talked about dline coach elston and said how he played at michigan, and nix liked that because he knew he would know about big time football Nix said he respected that kelly talked about what nix wanted to do and stuff. he said hes 100% committed to nd.

Wood- Talked about coach martin and how he communicates well with his players. Wood really like coach kelly. Kelly said he only wants players who want to be out there and he said he ddint care if they were a freshman or not.

Boyd-Said kelly was really cool and talked about the new staff. Boyd said he is so excited to get up there and cant wait. Confirmed martin will be a coach and boyd was wowed by 80-4 record

Both wood and boyd will be ee

I hunch that we'll see more and more of these types of meetings. It seems that Kelly comes off very well to this age group.

We've lost some, and we may lose a few more. But, as Mike Frank continues to point out, it's very difficult to close the deal with a recruit who had a relationship with a previous staff.

I'm looking forward to what Kelly can do over a full recruiting cycle and with the Notre Dame football cache (as opposed to Cincy) working for him.

I think all of it is good news.

I think its bare-minimum type news. Like if Kelly's staff wasn't coming together with three bowl games left, or if he decided that he didn't need to do in-home visits, I would be running around in circles yelling o no o noooo!

That being said, this could turn into very good news.

yeah nobody can get too mad if he loses guys this year. that has to be expected he would need to be a miracle worker to sign everyone that had a previous relationship with the old staff.

i wondered about his effort and from what i am reading it is there at this point and things are looking good!!!

now we just need to get him to run a pro style offense :)

To be honest, we became spoiled with C-Dub and his never say die attitude towards recruiting. Different regime, different philosophy...BK will be fine and he's going to lock down a fine class. However, we've grown to see Charlie, Polian and the like recruit like there was no tomorrow. It's a tough transition for me personally, but I'm holding out hope for a few sleepers yet to come.

If he is half the recruiter that CW was and 3 times the coach we will be much better off.
