Look, I'm not trying to be an asshole, but why is this thread a joke? Because people haven't agreed with you? You have been one of the main contributors to this thread, so are your thoughts part of "the joke"? You've brought some interesting insight to this thread. I appreciate your expertise in the area, and learned some things from reading your thoughts on the topic. As long as people learn something, I don't see where the joke is, in this thread or any other.

"Football strength" is a combination of a few things.
Olympic training is good to develop strength and power, but if your fast twitch muscle fibers arent reacting fast enough to where you are exploding off the ball at the right angle so that your power and strength can be utilized, you're in trouble.
Our linemen were strong guys, but they werent fast enough off the ball and couldnt get the leverage for any positive production. You basically become an unbalanced 300lbs+ object in space.
Football needs the right combination of speed, size, balance and quickness.
ND has lacked all of this for the last few years. CW has the image of an nonathletic book worm. his own obvious standard fitness wasnt a priority of his, and football fitness was not a part of his philosophy. That has to change...

This thread is a joke because all my treads were deleted explaining in detail why this was a bad hire for others to view. My opinion was not shared by some and were deleted.

It was your posts that were deleted, not your threads. And go look at the reasons your posts were deleted. It wasn't your opinion that was bad, it was your personal attacks. You and Nuetered got into a pissing match; you were asked by both HCTI and myself to stop. If your point was so dear to you, you would have left out the personal argument and left the heart of your message in tact. You had one post that had good info in it, but you had to end it with a dig on another member: After reading this you might start to believe the earth is round." Was that necessary? You did that on a lot of posts. You chose to get personal, we chose to delete your posts.
And guess what...read through the thread; I deleted posts from Nuetered, dkschrute and kmoose, not just you. The difference is, they are not bitching about it.
Feel free to add your expertise to the thread. Just do it in a mature way...

My bad mbeckha. I think I was the first to challenge on a personal level on this thread. Sorry bud, but no need to jump on the mods.
You do bring up some great points, and I like tommyIRISH23's point as well. Football and lifting and conditioning are dynamic "sciences". Add to that the fact that some athletes are using the latest supplements, and things stay dynamic.
Heck I watched ESPN classic a couple days ago and the teams were running the friggen Houston Veer option. Seems to me that "knowledge" is dynamic as well. Yesterday I "knew" I was going to be a wealthy and healthy guy. Today, I'm not so sure.
Maybe the job assigned to Mendoza was to beef up the line for better pass protection. Maybe the next coach's assignment will be to create a lean mean sprinting machine based on a sprint option attack. I don't know, but it seems nothing is ever set in stone. Just my opinion buddy. Keep the fire burning.

And the hits just keep on comin'....If you watched the Sugar bowl Cincy got physically manhandled by the Gators. The Gators got whipped by the Tide. I prefer Saban's approach. Beat em up and in the fourth quarter domminate.

We really don't care about Alabama, your history, your "mythical" national championships, Bear Bryant (he's dead by the way), The Southern Flip haircut, SEC football...etc. If you'd like to come here and talk ND football, that would be ter-freaking-rific.....Otherwise, save the banter for RollTide.com. I read his old posts HCTI, and he seems to have genuine respect for ND. But I agree, his last 4 posts have come across as 'trollish'.
HolyB, the Sugar Bowl actually made me feel better about Kelly. He took that team that got murdered by FL to an undefeated record. And btw, in case you didn't know, Kelly happened to be the coach of ND when that game came along.
Saban is a great coach, but be honest with yourself, Bama nearly lost some games this year, including one they REALLY got away with vs. a bad Tennessee team. Next year you guys will be very good, but you lose some key defenders, and if you happen to get behind you guys will be in trouble. Your QB is not very good, and that's being kind. You have a GREAT running game, but if your QB doesn't improve dramatically, you won't repeat for sure. Guaranteed.
Anyways, this is a ND board like HCTI said. Bama is superior to ND right now, no doubt, but we have a new coach and new things going on, so we really don't give a crap what Nick Satan is doing. Sorry...

Congrats to Bama on a great team and season - but . . . they haven't proven they could beat a MWC or WAC team the past few years. So I think there is an asteric by the NC with Boise State's name on it - hehe.
While I'm only partly serious about that; I don't understand how any rational person could vote 14-0 BSU #4. Didn't they beat an undefeated #3 team? Woudn't they at least have to be #3 if not #2?
Oh I get it - SEC voter bias, just like the Heisman where many Southern ballets didn't have Gerhard in the top 5.
