Puts things in perspective.

I hate to say it but would that team even beat a 2009 Alabama with the defense they have?

Sam Young is on our all decade team? Yikes. If you did this for the 80's or even 90's a guy like Young isnt in the top 15.

I cant wait to flush the decade and begin new again, ND football speaking.

LOL@ Quinn over Clausen.

Quinn is nowhere near the QB Clausen is. What in the world is he doing there over Clausen?

Quinn won. Clausen did not. He was a great QB, but i honestly think when you watch the guys in the pros, you will see that Quinn will be a better QB.

BTW...... awesome idea on this jason. We definately had some amazing guys in this decade...... getting ready to see the defensive side of things.

Gotta go with my boy Hoyt!!!!

Are you serious? No way Clausen is worse than Quinn in the pros. Quinn is HORRENDOUS for the Browns.

You obviously haven't seen the Browns roster.

Cleveland's go to guys are Brian Robiski...(LMAO, a stinkin' suckeye) who hasn't been active but for 3 weeks this season, Mohammad Massoquoi who has no idea what a hot read is..., Chansey Stuckey from the Jets who'll be baggin' my groceries next week, Evan Moore, a kid they picked up off the practice squad to play TE who's been arguably their best offensive weapon....Oh, wait, it gets better. Robert "what, you want me to catch the ball too?" Royal, Mike Furrey who's played more safety than WR, TE Michael Gaines...bwahahahahahahaha....,RB Chris Jennings :/, and lastly, everyone's hero, Greg Estandia.... Who????

The kid has had nothing to work with this year. NOTHING... There's a reason they're stacking the box on him....They don't think any of these tin cans can get open. Brady is the better QB....hands down.

Brady didn't win more, Brady's team won more.

The idea that 1 man controls the entire fate of his team is ridiculous.

Any GM or college head football coach would take Clausen over Quinn to be their starting QB if they had that decision. Clausen is a once in a decade type talent; and backed every bit of it up this last year. I've never seen a better pure passer in the history of the program, let alone the past decade.

I think alot of people would agree with you that Clausen is a better passer and pro prosepect than Quinn. IMO Quinn goes down as the better college QB because his team didnt lose to Navy twice and he had a career winning record and stayed all 4 years. His leadership was never really a question in my mind where, until this season, I was a little iffy about Clausens. Dont want to knock Jimmy, I would have loved to see him come back but as far as ND QB, Give me Brady.

Again, Brady wasn't a winner, the teams he played on won. There are 35 some guys (when you include the 2 deep) who all contribute to the success or failure of a football team. Clausen did everything in his power to win (he produced like a winner, he can't kick, tackle, catch, and defense receivers too); he didn't lose because he sucked, he lost because his team's sucked. This is something I've never understood in sports analysis: the idea that any 1 player somehow controls the fate of their teams win loss record.

Are Brady's receivers to blame for him not being able to keep a deep ball in bounds or complete a pass beyond 10 yards? Quinn has no accuracy.

Julius Jones. Really? Damn the RB position really sucked for us this decade then.

And Quinn over Clausen is a joke. Clausen is obviously the better QB, and I am a huge fan of Quinn's. But that is flat our the wrong choice by the posters here.

Jones was a great back who fell out of favor and never really got a chance to showcase his talent. He had the burst, the ability to run through arm tackles at the line, the vision to run away from the pursuit, and the speed to take it the distance. There's nothing BAD about saying that Julius Jones was the best RB of the decade.

Quinn was a winner. You can argue whether or not that was due to more talent around him or not, but he was a winner. The Quinn/Clausen debate really comes down to personal preference. Both were GREAT college quarterbacks. No one was smarter than Quinn. Maybe as smart, but definitely not smarter. The one thing that Quinn had was the blind faith of his teammates. If you go back and read the comments about Quinn, from his former teammates, one thing was clear: As long as Quinn was under center, they believed that they would win the game. Jimmy has led some great comebacks, too. Clausen's pure skills are probably more polished than Quinn's, but Clausen also had four years of tutelage by one of the best developers of QBs around. So, really, it is just personal preference. I don't think either pick is right, or wrong. One thing that I do think many people took into consideration, was Quinn sticking for all four years, while Clausen bolted after 3. ND has had a long tradition of players staying for all four years. I think many of us "oldenheimers" have come to look upon that as a point of pride.

Maybe the idea was to line Chuck Norris up at fullback?

Chuck Norris can play all 11 positions on the field at once and win 158-0 when it's all said and done. He can score touchdowns on defense just by staring down his opponents causing them to run back into their own endzone and falling on the ball for a safety.
