Extremely well said. And they're right, calling plays IS all a coach does, at the end of the day a coach succeeds or fails based on what his players do on the field, so hopefully they can bring it against Florida.

I sure am glad my job doesn't depend on what a bunch of 18 -21 year old kids can or can't do. A man that can do that job deserves much respect.

Haven't read their board, but did anyone ask if they were equally as pissed at Brian Kelly when he left CMU to coach Cinci in their bowl game? Was their message board killing him 3 years ago when he left that smaller program to go to the Big East and Cincinatti? Because if they weren't, then I don't want to hear it...

Yes multiple times i asked some fans to point me to a area of the forums where they were pitching a bitch about him doing it to CMU. No one would show me, because they werent pissed off then. Only pissed them off when it happened to them.

What if that job was the Director of Talent, for a very upscale Gentleman's Club?

I'm glad there pissed off. I'd be really really worried if they were silent

Exactly. This is the first sign of a good hire. We definitely needed someone that 'the others' didn't want to let go. At the '08 Washington game, I had Huskie fans begging us to take Willingham back - that is not a good sign.

You have to look out for #1 in this world; otherwise you are just taking care of #2 and that job stinks.

Gilyard gave a heartfelt apology to Brian Kelly vis the Cinci media. I felt it was sincere. He was angry and he let his emotions get the best of him. Good on him the way he reflected and realized how important Kelly was to him and the program. And I'd rather have them mad that he was leaving...showed how much he meant to them and the program.

I figured that would happen over time... good for Gilyard... with maturety they will realize he left them better than he found them.

Do you really blame them

Do you really blame them

He is the only coach to ever give them national spotlight other than basketball

As others have said, I just wonder if UC fans were this upset when Kelly did the exact same thing to CMU when he left to coach them....

Good for him. Understood the emotion & obvious disappointment but anger was misplaced. You just can't blame BK for taking a much bigger job. NCAA really needs to put some rules in place imo. Put all recruiting of players & coaches on hold for the bowl season. Give these kids the chance to finish what they started with the people that helped get them there.

On a side note I'd just like to thank whoever makes the the theme for this site & representing us ND fans with some style. That Cincy board is god awful to look at. I would be an embarrassed Cincy fan if I had to post on that eye sore.
