In-N-Out Burgers

Just had In-N-Out today. My girlfriend (from the midwest) LOVES their burgers. I like their burgers a lot, but their fries, as already stated, get cold WAY too quickly. Their burgers are a bit too small for me, but extremely tasty and aren't overly expensive at all...

My wife and I have a bit of a civil war about burgers. She is a die hard In & Out gal, but I was raised on Tommy's. Tommy's burgers with chili are the most incredible burgers I have ever had. When I was a kid, my parents used to take us to the original one down on Rampart after Dodger games. Rampart division of LAPD has a special traffic detail just for Tommy's on Friday and Saturday nights. Not a great neighborhood, but you see limos and Bentley's and everyone is sitting on their bumpers eating or standing up at the counter. Just a great place.

Anyhow, my wife will eat Tommy's and I will eat In & Out, but we never, EVER talk about which one is best because that discussion just never ends well.

We have Five Guys in Indiana... From what Ive heard about it, its like a In and Out burger. They only sell burgers, hotdogs, and fries..

Anyone else know of both that can compare?

5 Guys in Philly is the truth. Perfect balance of grease and food contents.

Also, for a sit down chain restaurant type of place-- Red Robin and Fudruckers are solid for a burger. but its somewhat fake.

Fudruckers is the sheeeiittt. They make the buns fresh right in front of you. All the fixins laid out for free. Your choice of the size of meat, cooked fresh right in front of you.

In-N-Out is the grandson of Fudruckers. In-N-Out fries, although peeled, cut and fried right in front of you, suck. Burgers are good enough, but I'd rather have either a Wendy's or Sonic doublecheesburger.

I think I'll walk the block away and get me an In-N-Out burger and some Wendy's fries.

Locally, the In-N-Out is packed from open to close. Unreal.

you are on crack!!! I have never... EVER... had a hot burger from Wendy or Sonic... both way way subpar... In and Out fries are different for sure because they aren't drenched in fat and salt... get them animal style though and it's heaven... wendy's fries aren't good at all unless you put those chilli seasoning packets on them... then they are money

only fast food burger that comes close to In-N-Out is Carls... their Wesern Bacon, Jalapeno Burger and Chicken Sandwich and their Santa Fe Chicken are all off the charts

I usually say the more attention things get the crapier it is (American Idol is a prime example) but with food usually the people speak the truth... ALL In-n-outs are packed sun up to sundown... probably the only real drawback

You are on heroin. In-N-Out fries are first drenched in fat, then drizzled with salt. At Wendy's, I always ask for freshly "fat fried" fries. I watch them do it, to make sure they are fresh. Nothing worse than twice fried fries.. Wendy's fries. Yummy. The best.
