im pretty sure that horse was in reference to toby gerhart... he is a horse of a running back. its still a big deal to beat notre dame, its a bigger deal to have a kid like gerhart on your team and having 1000 people around him screaming heisman while he is doing an interview on national tv is pretty damn good advertising.

Exactly, Harbaugh didn't give the ole " look at us were fighters" type speech. He knew whose back they won that game on & deferred his own interview to him. I thought that was class as well as the fans & student body chanting Heisman. Nobody was bragging about beating Notre Dame.

You make some interesting points, many I probably would have come to figure out on my own if I wasn't so god damn pissed off. but I would argue that it is no longer a big deal to beat ND, the days when ND provided a mid season BCS caliber ball game are gone for the time being. Not with our current D, and certainly not with last years full team.

Also, I must finally admit to myself that CW needs to go. I stuck in there with him alllll the way up to last weeks game. but the loss to Uconn shook my confidence and tonight's loss just sealed the deal.

I actually really admire the man, you can tell his team loves him and in the end taking care of your kids is the biggest priority any coach has. Unfortunately for CW however at ND that priority is only slightly above winning games. Something he has proven he can't do, even with some great recruiting skills and one of the most elite Offenses in the country.

I know he will land on his 2 feet, the 18 million dollar buy out and his super bowl rings should ensure he has a bright future. But now we need someone who will come in and push this team to the next level.

I feel sorry for the offense skill players and their backups. It is a credit to the team that the offense hasn't turned on the defense. This offense is definitely top 10 material but the D puts too much pressure on the offense to carry the team. How did we ever shut out Nevada?!

Once again ND makes a Heisman candiate look like a world beater. Carson Pamer, Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush now Toby Gerhart? Every defensive coach has got to go (yes even Hart) who hasn't made a difference. This D will need de=programming so they aren't ruined.

charlie is not the best guy for the job, but lets not bash him. he did take us to 2 bcs games right away and we have had a great offense this year. he never hired the right guys on defense and probably doesnt know defense himself, so theres his downfall. i hope swarbrick makes the decision to weis and the players tomorrow and public thereafter. good luck to weis in his future job, i hope he and his family can find happiness and escape this nightmare that has consumed their lives. as for our irish, lets pray that we get the right guy this time. i think cowher or dungy would be perfect but both are pipe dreams. i like stoops over kelly, but either of the two i could see being a great move.
