Stanford has played ND tough at The Farm for a while so this is no guarantee. Luck is a good QB who can easily give our secondary some trouble. Cardinal QB's always tend to do that. Gerhart is a workhorse, too, but I think our front 7 should shut him down for the most part. As long as we play them straight up, with limited stunts on the line, our DL will get penetration and the LB's will get some big hits.

I still stand behind my prediction even after all that has happened the last two weeks - no way we lose this game. Toby will run all over us, but ND will find a way to win. Jimmy's (possibly) last game in college and in front of California fans + we have Stanford's number in my opinion + it will be a hometown crowd. Stanford has great fans, but not diehard enough to stay over Thanksgiving break. I have been to Palo Alto many times for this game and it is almost always a predominantly ND crowd.

ND wins this game in a shootout. Not sure of the score, but the over/under will be somewhere around 78 points or so, if you ask me.

Based on the current Sagarin Rating (Predictor) ND should be a 9.5 underdog.

I'm with Rudy89 because I think the Irish are out of gas after all they've been thru. If they get hit in the mouth early they may mail it in. I thought I would never say this-ever-about my beloved Irish but the writing is on the wall. I can only imagine how tough a practice week this will be. That plane ride home wont be pleasant. Hope for better in '10 and will hate to see Charlie go out on his shield but I think Stanford wins very big.

This has a Purdue 2001 feel to it. A Pyrrhic victory. May not matter either way.

I just think we're too good of a passing team and in the no-huddle to get blown out. I mean our biggest loss has been by 7 points, and we have trailed in the 4th quarter 8 times this year, and have been down by 10+ four times in the 4th. We have too much talent to get blown out, so it should be close...again.

Rudolph expected to return Saturday against Stanford Angelo Di Carlo

With all the attention at Tuesday's media viewing of Notre Dame football practice on Jimmy Clausen's new Darth Vader look and embattled head coach Charlie Weis, one player fell under the radar.
Tight End Kyle Rudolph, who missed the last two and a half games with a shoulder injury, worked out 'full go' and is expected to play in Saturday's season finale at Stanford. Rudolph injured his shoulder in the third quarter of the Navy game and there was a fear at the time, it was a broken collar bone. It wasn't and here Rudolph is ready to help his team again.

“I think I’ve recovered a little quicker than I thought and what they (team doctors) thought," Rudolph said in quotes provided by the Notre Dame Sports Information Department. The Irish cut off media access to players this week.
"Just going along there really hasn’t been any setbacks. There has been a lot of soreness trying to push it to get myself ready to play but other than that I’m just doing all of the rehab that they have me doing to try and get back on the field as quick as I can.”
Irish head coach Charlie Weis said Tuesday it will all be about how much pain Rudolph can take on Saturday. Rudolph says he doesn't expect there to be limitations in practice.
“As of right now I wouldn’t think so. I haven’t really tested it yet but we will see as practice goes on this week in how I’m able to use it. Obviously, if I’m limited in any way then they won’t let me go. They’re not just going to put me out there to put me out there. They want me out there because I can do everything like I used to be able to.”

ND should score a ton of points. its a poor stanford pass defense (around 90th in the country)

I am just rooting for this game to be over with no injuries. I don't care what the score is.

We just need to move on and start the new era.

Also, I imagine ND won't talk to Kelly until after the Cincy v. Pitt game since Cincy is playing Pitt for the Big East Championship.
