I for one will be happy when I don't hear "Looks like (fill_in_team) has figured out that rushing 4 and dropping everyone else shuts down this ND offense."

I think at this point the players now know it. I think they were holding out hope that winning out would save him, but its OVER. They all are now going to try and move on and we will see a 2007esque next week.

Anywhere.....Everywhere

Shaq is a WR, Hughes is a RB. It's not like Shaq was a tailback in High School, like Golden Tate. Are you really saying that you would rather that ND lined up Shaquelle Evans at TB than Hughes? You would rather have a WR trying to identify and pick up blitzes, and running between the tackles? Well, it's pretty obvious why you are here, tonight, instead of on a sideline somewhere. :krazy:

I remember someone on this site telling me how good of a OC Charlie Weis is, yeah I wonder if he's still saying that..........

Well, I might have been one of them, I've been quite vocal in my support of CW, but even I have to admit, that watching todays game, was akin to watching the sand run out in an hourglass, along with all my hopes and dreams.

A very sad day for Charlie and Notre Dame, I had such high hopes when he came to Southbend, it's awful it that his tenure will be seen as a failure.

Charlie has proved on many occasions he his a classy guy, on and off the field, he loves Notre Dame, and to see the players rally around him as they took the field today spoke volumes, it certainly effected Charlie emotionally as they all linked arms with him.

At games end, he looked visibly shattered, tired and beaten, his time with the Irish looks to have really taken it's toll on him, and I'd be surprised if he coached at any level next year.

God bless you Charlie, you did your best, and I wish you well.

I was being sarcastic, I have been ridiculed for saying Charlie SUCKS. I just find it funny that the rest of the " It's not Charlies fault people" are turning to the dark side.

Haha my mistake bro. They truly need a sarcasm font. I bet some of those people are biting their tongues right now, just itching to say something... Anything....

I still support Charlie Weis.........just not as the Head Coach at ND. As was mentioned, earlier today..........have some class, and show some respect. The guy didn't fail for a lack of trying. He worked his tail off to try to field the best team he could. It's obvious, now, that his best is not good enough. But I don't see any of us prowling the sidelines on Saturday afternoons for a major DI-A school, so all I expect is that people not dogpile on him.

Great recruiter and a good guy don't equal good head coach, the writing was on the wall a long time ago. Sad thing is I'm terrified to see who the hell we bring in.

i noticed that. pretty shocking, and he was already pretty big back then.

im not saying it affects his coaching ability at all, but he really does look like he coud take a year off.

Have you watched him play RB this year? He get's a hell of a lot more yardage off tckle than Hughes does up the middle. Check your stats.

How many of you here have a second team that you route for? I've been routing for Boise State since 2002. That's when I moved from Northern Indiana. Now I live in the Sunny Southwest........
All I can say is at least BS wins.........

I have been rather quiet the past month or so because of all the craziness here about CW. I have a simple question, does anyone care if Jimmy comes back next year??

phork, hate to admit it, but you were right all along.

I just chose to step back and look at the big picture before some of the people here. I certainly don't take any glee from this in the least. I like Charlie, a lot. He is a wonderful human being and if only more of us could be like him it would do the world justice.

The guy talked the talked. He brought the rings, the arrogance and he brought back tradition that is ND Football. Some people aren't just cut out to be head coaches. Tonight he had the look of a beaten man, from the arm in arm lock step to the "no more" questions to Alex Flanigan at the end of the game.

I would be surprised if he is retained another year, so for this I will say Good Luck Charlie. If you don't retire all together, I am sure you will fit in with any team lucky to have you.

I would love to see Jimmy come back, he won't though. There is no reason anymore.
