Here we go again I dont know if this will be merged or not but I would like all of you to read this.

it sucks we lost...it sucks as fans that we wont have the staisfaction of seein our team that we love play in a big game. Its hard for me knowing monday at class Im going to be driven insane with ND jokes.

The bottom line is as human being we cant feel too dejected. As someone on this board told me after the USC game I didnt shed a beed of sweat nor do I have one bruise from this game.

None of us could've changed the outcome...does that suck hell yes but we have to learn to just let this go which is what I've learned to do since the Navy game, and since a priest from ND himself gave me this advice when I went to South Bend for church camp in the summer of 06. I knew I could never play at ND but his words to me were after I told him about myself were "your dream of playing in the golden dome may not come true but you can make your dreams of becoming a sports agent, having a family, and going to heaven come true."

While it may not fit for most of us since we arent high school football players anymore I feel like that applies today. I feel that as fans we cannot let this devestae us too much we did our job we supported the irish and it may hurt to see them lose but we can still have great weeks after this week.

ND may have had a crap year and from the looks of things a few more or even some worse ones in the coming years.

But right now I'm still happy I got an 87% on my math test on wednesday (I suck at math) Im happy I have a relable car now, Im happy my friend is finally getting help for his alcoholism and he can hopefully live now. I can still go into sports amrketing as a career and I can start training to be a pro-wrestler at the begining of next year

We are all hurt...we wouldnt be true fans if we didnt feel a little hurt but im sure we can all go on to have a great rest of the year with or without watching ND on new Year's day.

Now If yall will excuse me I'm going to pick my gf up from work, kiss her, eat dinner, watch the office on dvd, then some wrestling from japan. I'll then start coutning down til,l thursday to eat turkey and my great aunts amazing chocolate pie and work towards living my other dream and being a good person.

This was my frist season on these boards and it made it more fun I hope we can rebound...I dont think we can but Im not perfect but I hope we can all be more positive than to think about this...not to mention writing this was rather soothing for me :).

We are ND.

I fixed the title but let the message stand.

postive adjective Combination of "positive" and "votive". Characterized by or displaying certainty, acceptance, or affirmation but requiring many banks of candles being lit at The Grotto.

He's right, although it hurts some of us former high school players more than most, we can't control the ND program. All we can do is support it and it's players, My wife already thinks I'm nuts because of how much this program affects my life but that's what true fans are. We nee to make sure we support our players despite what coaching changes might or might not take place. WE ARE NOTRE DAME and our players and recruits need to know our dedication.

I'm hurting, but perhaps surprisingly, not nearly as much as I thought nor nearly as much as after the Navy game. I wasn't even hurting as much as normal after last week's loss. Why???

I think it's because we can finally all admit that CW is gone, and I guess I'm more relieved than anything. Relieved that CW can be put out of his misery, relieved that change is going to come to a program that seems to be on the right track but needs a coach to get us over the hump. Hopefully we can hire a home run coach. Maybe we get the superstar (Meyer...great coach but grade A douche bag), maybe we get the next up and coming stud (B Kelly), maybe we get lucky and get a our 4th choice who turns out to be a great hire (a la SC). Maybe we get another dud. Maybe we get burned again (and embarrassed) by multiple coaches trying to cash in on ND's opening and looking for their own admin to fork up cash. Who the hell knows???

But I thought it was painfully obvious last week that a change was needed (as much as I love CW), and of course it's even more obvious now.

Thanks again Charlie, for being a stand up guy that your players love, for doing things the right way, and for proving that you CAN still recruit to ND. Go take a year off, maybe get healthy both mentally and physically, and go take your pick of O-coordinator positions in the NFL a year from now. Wish things could have turned out better; you're ND through and through...

it hurts me more than anything to see them lose.................. like all of you, i want to see notre dame be successful like they've always been.......i want to see them be the elite team like they we're in the past....................all the people in my school know im a die hard notre dame fan and when they lose i get a whole load of crap......... and quite frankly i don't have any arguments
1.) im from pittsburgh and pitt beat us (I didn't hear the end of it)
2.) we don't have the toughest schedule.....like most of you, i only saw 1 loss on our schedule before the season started
3.) we lost to navy
4.) we're possibly going to end the season .500
5.) I'll admit it, before the season started i was boasting to all my friends on how good ND was going to be this year.......... i was thinking national championship, BCS Bowl at least and i guess i got what i deserved because it really came back to bite me in the a$$

-overall, im very disappointed on how this season turned out

I'm a Bear's fan even though I live in LA. Ithink the Bear's could use him right away but I think he needs to take off at least a year and spend some time with his family. I'm sure he has missed alot working long hours etc. HE's a good guy but I just don't think his approach works in CFB. Coming out flat is not an option at ND where everyone is gunning for you even when you go 3-9.

Good luck

I guess I dont feel as sad because I guess Ive finally realized that there are more important things in my life since Im not on the team. Like I said I wouldnt trade in doing well on my math test for an ND win....I know none of you all care about that much but Ive begun to truly appreciate the important things in my life more. I worry more about what I can control and let stuff like this as much as it sucks and trust me it SUCKS just go away with time... Seeing my gf and watching some of Michael, Jim, Dwight, and nard-dog also helps :) I hope yall dont think I sound like a douche

Good advice but I am parital to Kevin on the Office. He is the unsung hero. I might trade my test score for a win over USC but not UConn. UConn had one coming. They have lost more (actually the same number now) close games than we have. If you like the Office you should try Parks & Recreation.

I'm hurting, but perhaps...

well done lad. cw's gone, and although it may suck for him....he's done a great job of getting nd back to where it belongs. we just need the leader to get us to the days of ole.

he needs to take the buyout money and enjoy a vacation for he and his family to deservedly enjoy.

go irish!!

Parks and Rec is cool. Community is the story of my life right now since Im currently at a lame community college. NBC has everything I like on it when it comes in like it didnt for the last part of the game today

I did community for 3 years, just keep going and get yout bachelors. It doesn't say anything on your degree that you went to community. Save some dough then transfer.

I'm a HUUUUUGGGEEEE Office fan, started with the British version and moved on to the American one. I have all 5 seasons. I too watch Parks and Rec and Community, but the Office is the standard bearer.

As for community college, my brother went to Golden West JC in Huntington Beach for water polo and swimming, then went to UC Irvine, got his masters from there and just got his doctorate from UCLA. He is now a professor at the University of Miami. There's nothing wrong with going to a JC, as long as you handle your business. Keep your head up...

I agree about The Office. Parks & Recreation is okay but it's too much like The Office and nothing can capture the magic that The Office has created.

Favorite Episode: The Watermark. It highlighted the most unsung member of the show: Creed Bratton. I think he's absolutely hilarious and I love that he is, in real life, Creed Bratton. I think it's great.

I will most likely be transfering to Southern Illinois University who is Number 1 I think in D1-AA football so thats a pep up. Also on my office season 4 dvd the episode is what im wathcing now and the episode is fun run!

another grim reminder of just how lucky we are is seeing randy edsall holding back tears as he consoles over the television a family who lost a 20 something year old kid.... a kid who was their ticket out of the slums of miami....

i live in ct and know people who had been on that team in the past and watched the news around here when it happened and it is a gut wrenching thing to think about.

its all about perspective

As Eric Idle sings, "Always look on the bright side of life." Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
