I just laugh at this. How can someone be so blinded? I don't want to sound insulting but do you watch the games? like at all? Clausen and Tate is the only reason we've stayed in theses games. Weis is the sole reason we lost them.
and if say he is giving us a chance to win...whats stopping us from WINNING?! ...please don't say the players...just dont say the players or I'll lose it.

and being in "a chance to win" is not good enough for me. ever. It doesnt matter how 'close you are' it matters who wins. Period.

The coaching hasn't been great, but you can't honestly think that the players aren't responsible somewhat. It goes both ways. You seem like one of the people who call Clausen's fumble on the 1 against Navy bad coaching. So does that make Golden Tate's punt return good coaching? Was Ragone's drop on the 2-pt convo bad coaching, or was it bad execution?

Wow, I was with you for a second, but damn, that's pretty bad. To say that the coach is the sole responsibility for all the losses is worse than anything Wabash said. It's complete ignorance. Coaches can only do so much; players have responsibilities as well. Yes, CW deserves his share of the blame and the buck stops with him, but there are things that happen in a football game that are out of his control. It sounds like you've never been on a football field when you say things like that (you might have played, but when you place the ALL the blame on one person then you give the impression that you've never played nor coached).

I've played and coached football (not at a super high level, but still), and I can tell you, it never ONE person's fault. And in this case, it's not even close to being all CW's fault. Watch the games; there is plenty of blame to go around. CW doesn't whiff on blocks, he doesn't fumble the ball, he doesn't drop 3rd down passes, he doesn't miss tackles, etc. Again, in the end, he should have done a better coaching job and I do believe he deserves to be fired, but that's the nature of the beast. To say he deserves sole responsibility for every loss is a really, really bad argument...

Although I disagree with CW being to blame for everything. I think you might want to make a better example. See if Robby Paris does actually fumble everytime he touches the ball, then in fact it would be CW fault, since he is still playing Robby.

Go read ANY ND site. This site is tame compared to other ones. You want negativity? Go read NDNation. Worst ND site around. All they do is bitch and complain. I haven't been there in years, but ND friends tell me it's still the worst.

I belong to a paysite, and I post here and check out a couple other sites, and after the game I dreaded coming to my 2 favorite ND sites (here and ISD). Why? BECAUSE WE LOST in a season where losing for our head coach was simply not an option. Of course there's going to be negativity, of course there's going to be people pissed off. Can you blame them?

Now, the mods have tried to keep it civil, and for the most part it has been civil. Wabash, I get your love for CW, but keeping us close in games this year just wasn't going to cut it, not at ND, not with ND's administration, not with ND's alumni, not with the subway fans. As much as I hate to see CW taking all this heat, I must say that I am relieved that it seems to be over, that we can start all over and that CW can get a much deserved break from all this crap he has to deal with.

Things haven't gone his way this year...refs, injuries, players underperforming, but the buck stops with CW, and he didn't get it done this year. I'm not whining, it's just the truth. Even CW would be the first one to tell you that 6-4 isn't good enough. It's time to move on. CW will leave ND in a much better place than when he took it over, and I for one will never forget that. He is not a failure in my eyes, he just didn't get the job done at a high enough level in the toughest place to coach in America.

Again, if this site bugs you because of the 'whiners', go check out the other ND sites. You'll find the same if not much worse. It's not whining by most fans, it's just a case of not being happy with the results this year.

Having said that, I'm rooting hard for the Irish these next 2 games. CW can go out with 2 wins, including a chance to upset a team that just spanked 2 top 10 teams. I can't wait baby. GO IRISH!!!!

Great post. 100% truth. You really feel like punishing yourself, go to blue and gold.com and read their free message boards. Some of those ass hats really get the blood boiling. My God, there are like 3 dudes on there that seem to have made a pact to be complete a-holes to any other poster on there that disagrees with their narrow-minded opinion that Brian Kelley should be the next HC at ND. They hate All-things Charlie and really go out of their way to act like infantile morons. Like a bunch of junior highers that seem to thrive in their little clicks and feel the comfort of each others' attacks on others. I for one enjoy reading the posts on here as they are, "tamer" than most other site.
