How about we keep the coaches and the recruits they are bringing in and let them coach a young, still maturing D?
Hey guys, lets look at Iowa. Based on record they should have fired Kirk Ferentz a decade ago. They stuck with him and the continuity of the program has made that into a pretty decent program. Jon Gruden isn't going to cut it as a college coach. Peterson wont leave Boise as long as he is getting BCS contention. Chip Kelly probably wont leave Cincy because he is top dog in teh Big East. Yeah, we will be loaded next year, if Charlie stays. If he doesn't say goodbye to a lot of the players, a lot of the recruits, and a lot of future wins.

Rich Rodriquez will probably be available - hahahaha
I agree Notredomer23, it is the perfect time to take the reigns of this program if given the opportunity. Someone like Gruden could win in the first year. While I'm ok with charlie (not a fan, but not totally annoyed), I'd also be happy with new leadership. Ideally we'd keep Charlie as OC and havve someone like Kelly as head coach.
the bottom line is that i dont care how much talent you bring in if you cant teach discipline and toughness both physically and mentally then you are not a good football coach.
the fact that this team continues to be mediocre bothers me less than the fact that they are completely undisciplined and lack toughness.

This is such a stupid, tire argument. Charlie didn't cause us to lose this game. Micheal Floyd letting balls bounce off his back, and 2 missed field goals cost us a close game with a team that EATS the clock. I think the best available Recruiter and Coach for this team right now is CHARLIE WEIS
Kirk Ferentz?
Iowa football has never mattered, nor does their history compare anything to that of Notre Dame's. Kirk Ferentz can go 1-10 and 3-9 in his first 2 seasons and nobody would care other than their local fanbase, but the program had been irrelevant for the final years of Fry's regime.
Iowa is a decent Big 10 program, 3 good seasons followed by 3 mediocre seasons. Nobody cares.
This is Fat Charlie's 5th year, do you honestly see us improving next season with what we are & what we most expect to lose at the end of the season?
This was supposed to be our year, now we are calling about the Alamo Bowl.
