not sure they are completely taking over for Harrison. Weis just said Brown and Slaughter would likely play.

competition breeds success

Harrison was a safety in HS, it's not a brand new position, and he is the second leading tackler. He can play. He makes plays. He just doesn't do it consistently. I was wondering if this is primarily a motivational move to increase focus.

He is one of those guys you can rip on all you like, but in the end he has saved the bacon more than once.

I'd rather have Parris catch it and fall, than Kamara not catch it at all. First downs move the chains and kill the clock and sustain long drives.

Exactly! And first downs mean more chances to get the ball to Tate, Rudolph, and the other playmakers. If teams want to double and triple cover those guys, on third down, and Parris is left to catch first downs but not do much more with the ball? That's fine with me.

Wow, who cares if Parris can't stretch the field. I feel what this team lacks most of the time is going over the middle which Parris does that and is not scared to take the hit. If we have 2 or 3 guys who can stretch the field, you still need the possession guy. Look at the NFL with guys like Wes Welker and Brandon Stokley. Watch the Michigan game over and you will see Floyd due a 7 yard and in route, ball is delivered but there is a defender there and he dead stops and backs up to not take the hit that was coming if he tried to catch the ball. Don't get me wrong, Floyd is the man but you have to have guys who will go over the middle and get creamed after the catch.

Parris is the 4th leading ND receiver with 11.2 yds/catch.

Averaging better than a First Down/catch and he's the #4 receiver.

How jaded we've become. Some of us.

My two biggest disappointments this year have been Filer/Fauria. One has to leave and the other never plays much? Filer seems to be a player to me. The one move that never gets talked about that I thought was BIG was moving Robinson in and shifting Olson. It never gets any attention but the new coach knew what he was doing.

I wish Fauria was still on the team, at least he went to UCLA so i can still root for him.

Filer should get pt this week because Fleming is questionable.

That was a great move. The tackles got beat against SC but the interior didnt. If you dont notice the o-line that means they are doing there job. Im gonna miss Eric Olsen

The reason for Filer and lack of pt is they want to move him to DE. He has great quickness and could be a good pass rusher

i think spending a little time on the sideline watching the action will help harrison get his focus back.

Sergio Brown for Harrison Smith in a heartbeat. Harrison is sooooooo bad. Horibble pursuit angle on Damian Williams on that bubble screen.
