Weather forecast for tomorrow is 40% chance of showers, mid 40's for the high and winds between 10-20 mph. It appears that we may need the Irish running game to pick it up somewhat!

hammering BC by 40+ would truly make for a special Saturday, but a knock out drag em out fight is what i expect. it's been a stressful and i want nothing more than to chill in front of the tv w/o having to pace.

Mark May picks BC. I'm stunned. lol

And "Dr." Lou picks ND. I'm stunned!

A little Frick here and a little Frack there makes the ESPN Sports Center World go 'round.

I side with Holtz on this one.

I would really like to see a statement game against BC. They have owned ND for too long and it must come to an end with a thorough beat down.

I'm hoping that BCs passing game brings nothing and we just have to shut down the running game - and then we do it - BIG TIME.

ND Running Game v BC Run D ADVANTAGE: EVEN
BC's rushing D is ranked 39th allowing 117 ypg. ND's rushing offense is 70th with 137 ypg.
I would see this as a slight advantage BC. They are usually pretty tough on the Irish rushing yds.

Intangibles ADVANTAGE:
BC has won the last 6 games in the series and is 5-5 at ND Stadium.
I would think that this would be swayed towards the Irish. The fact that the Irish are coming off a tough loss to U$C, loss the last 6 to BC and playing at home ... that has to add up to the Irish favor.

...

During their 6-0 run they have seemed to throttle ND's running game, fortuntately their dominant tackles Raji and Brace are both gone and their dominant LB Herzlich isn't able to play this season. With those personnel losses, preseason I expected everybody to run all over BC. So far only VT has.

Tech rolled up 235 net yds on 51 carries. The Hokies only attempted 12 passes but connected on 8 for 206 yds. Tech burned them in the air and on the ground.

Tech averaged 4.6 ypc against BC. BC's defense has held their other 6 opponents to 2.8 ypc.

Meanwhile ND's rushing attack is better but not dominant. ND's averaging 3.9 ypc. First two games started out well then it slid back.

NV 4.3 ypc.
UM 5.0
MSU 3.6
PU 3.9
UW 3.7
USC 2.6

ND's had injuries, Allen, Aldridge, and Clausen (107 yds in losses) which contributed to the lower numbers. But ND only had a net rushing gain of 108 yds against UW and 82 against USC. Part of that was due to lower attempts due to trailing but the ypc was also low.

And while the Wildcat is popular, it takes ND's best offensive weapon Clausen off the field. On the other hand it gives his injured foot a rest.

As for BGI's Intangibles the law of averages should put the game in ND's favor. Of course, we've been saying that since '02. BC's changed coaches a couple of times and that hasn't hurt them this millenium. They had their best game against NCS their last one. ND almost had their best game against Southern Cal and the adrenlin should be done. Up to the coaches and captains to get 'em up. Nobody on this team, player or coach has ever beaten BC. Last year's game was a statistical nightmare for Clausen. I think he will lead the charge.

I don't care about statistics, predictions, or that cocksmoker Mark May. I just want to see the Irish win this game, in any possible scenario.

Boston College is a spoiler team. They live for the big upset(usually Notre Dame) and I hope we crush their spirit, and drive them into the arms of the mothers.

A close call to USC doesn't really offer any consolation to any of us, but a heavy beat down of FREDO would definitely put some salve on old wounds.

Unfortunately, I'm on call this weekend and can't drink. I'll be completely sober while pacing around my living room. With the lack of intense euphoria provided by limitless alchohol consumption, there's only one thing to make me truly happy.

A NOTRE DAME VICTORY!

GO IRISH!!!

I was waiting for a little snide remark from him the whole time and shockingly it didnt come. He is pretty good for the most part when not talking about ND/Pitt/USC, I must admit.

Yeah, well on College Football Live MayGay took Boston College to beat ND (SHOCKER!!!). He's still an asshat and a major league tool. He thinks he's good at picking games because he's beating Lou, but all he picks is favorites, while Lou constantly picks upsets. Tonight, May took 4 favs, plus the obligatory anti-ND pick. Holtz took 2 underdogs, and was close to pulling the trigger on 2 other ones. May took the chalk the entire way. And yes, Mayhad that smug look on his damn face...

Corso predicted a 4 TD win. I texted a friend that info, and he texted back "Corso's likely to have another stroke".

I think both are highly likely.

Well, we just need to make Lou's day...it is a major joy in life to hear Lou ask steroid Erkle, err.. I mean MM - Saturday night - when MM says "Yeah, but is was only (Nev., Purdue, Wash., MSU., BC)..." "Then why'd you pick 'em?" if he knew his ass from a hole in the ground.

The reason we gave up the HOF here in South Bend was to get rid of any sign of that douchebag.

Nice to have an "automatic" 3 from inside the Red Zone in your pocket.

3-0 Irish!
