Wouldn't mind playing a BCS game not in an opponent's back yard. But would be an amazing game.

Don't let phork read this.

Phork's response to post:

"Substitute Michigan for Notre Dame, Donovan Warren for Kyle McCarthy, and Tate Forcier for Jimmy Clausen and we're okay. Let's Go Blue!"

Just messin', phork.

I hope we win, but Clausen plays poorly, so he decides to stay for his Sr. year.

Being in any of these games is like playing in any of the southern teams backyards. Poor USC always gets an extra home game in January.

You bring up a good point actually, I have long called for midwest/east coast bowl locations that actually matter. What you get is a Big 10 road game to the Pac 10 every year and a bunch od SEC home games and then everybody wonders "why does the big 10 get crushed in the bowls"

Lets play Jan 1 in thr Big House or ND stadium and see how it goes.

We would have more fans there than Miami, too bad it would be V Tech not Miami vs us in the game.

Why not play in Indy or Detroit or some other mid-west dome?

PS: I always bring up good points.

Screw domes. You have ND Stadium, Ann Arbor, Columbus, Soldier Field, Lambeau - great facilities for a cold ass Midwestern bowl game.

I know, I know, alums want these to be nice little vacation getaways not sit and freeze their asses off.

Weve had Bears season tix in my family since 1976 so im just a little less sympathetic about this stuff.

It would be unfair to make those warm weather teams play in cold. It's bad enough it rains when they play. /sarcasm.

Kinda shocked that they have us in a BCS bowl but I won't complain. I pray we play a winable game - would not like to play whoever is second in the SEC.

Any game against an ACC or Big East team is more than winable.
And if Boise goes undefeated there is a good chance they will be matched up against the second place SEC team in another attempt to show non-BCS teams don't belong.

well lets hope the SEC actually comes to play this time as opposed to half-assing it for 4 quarters

Such a good point. If you look at the NFL as opposed to College there is such an advantage for cold-weather teams in the NFL and warm-weather ones in College.

Last 6 Super Bowl Winners:

2008-2009: Pittsburgh Steelers
2007-2008: New York Giants
2006-2007: Indianapolis Colts
2005-2006: Pittsburgh Steelers
2004-2005: New England
2003-2004: New England

Last 6 College Football Champs:

2008-2009: Florida
2007-2008: LSU
2006-2007: Florida
2005-2006: Texas
2004-2005: USC
2003-2004: LSU/USC

Not saying that there should be a playoff, but kinda BS how SEC teams can guarantee themselves warm weather games throughout the year while Big 10/Big East/ND have to start preparing for the cold weather about halfway through the year. If the bowl games were played up North and not in domes, I can guarantee there would be little talk about the SEC's recent dominance.

I'll be there. Made the drive from Tampa last time ND played in the Orange Bowl (v. FSU). They lost, so it was a long ride home.
