A. Has won at least nine regular-season games, and
B. Is among the top 14 teams in the final BCS Standings.
I disagree. We still have a hobbled quarterback and are without the best receiver in the country. It is also way too early to talk about the bcs. Depending on the way things shake out, 10-2 might easily put is in. Or it could end up we arent close. Its only the first weekend in October...
You have to understand the voters point of view here.. Here is ND at 4-1. 1 Blowout victory and last minute wins and an OT over teams with a combined record of 6 - 13. A loss against the only good team on the schedule.
ND was supposed to "Show Me" and so far they haven't impressed anyone.
... my thought is make your own respect- I want them to come out 'cold blooded ready' against SC. This is a players game. I think Notre Dame wins this game.
Not exactly. Stats can say a lot things and can prove your argument in several ways. But the truth is a little deeper here. While ND was unimpressive, as a whole team, OSU blew out everyone except Navy and of course the loss to USC.
If you handed those numbers to someone who knew nothing about college football, you might actually prove the teams are equal. A little research would prove who belongs where.
Interesting stats I just figured. Especially all you Irish fans in Buckeye country who have to listen to radio announcers trash our schedule!
OSU W-LTOTAL: 21-19
- Navy 1-4 W
- USC 4-1 L
- Toledo 3-3 W
- Illinois 1-4 W
- Indiana 3-3 W
- Wisconsin 5-1 W
- Purdue 1-5
ND W-LTOTAL: 21-19
- Nevada 2-3 W
- Michigan 4-2 L
- Michigan St. 3-3 W
- Purdue 1-5 W
- Washington 3-3 W
- USC 4-1
- Boston College 4-2
So we should be in the top 10 with a win this Saturday!! Shouldn't we?
Not to go away from the topic here, but has anyone else been really impressed with Navy this year? I always pay attention to them anyway, but more so this year with the close loss to OSU. They've looked really good, and they play 13 games this year. With the bowl game, I would not be surprised to see 10-11 wins.
Navy is 4-2 NOT 1-4.

Well ND plays almost half of the same teams.. MSU, Purdue, USC, Michigan, Navy...
Yep, thats the main thing I bring up when I'm talking to the buck nuts here. Actually they don't have MSU on there schedule this year, but they usually do.
go to phil steele's site and look up strength of schedule for '09, that'll shut those buck nutz up. ND was 36 and OSU was either 39 or 40.
